Danny Jansen C | TEX
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Not starting Wednesday
Jansen isn't in Wednesday's lineup against the Red Sox.
Jansen broke a seven-game hitless streak with two hits in Tuesday's contest, but he'll take a seat Wednesday. Reese McGuire will start behind the plate in his place.

Jonah Heim C | ATH
Athletics' Jonah Heim: On base twice in MLB debut
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday, his major-league debut.
The rookie backstop didn't let his bottom-of-the-order slotting prevent him from making an impact in his first big-league game. Heim scored his first run as major leaguer in somewhat unorthodox fashion, as he crossed the plate after Mark Canha was plunked by a pitch in the seventh inning. Heim had been impressing since spring training, and anticipation is high for what he might able to accomplish at this level after slashing .358/.412/.557 in 119 plate appearances at Triple-A Las Vegas last season.

Austin Nola C | COL
Mariners' Austin Nola: Up to five homers
Nola went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's win over the Padres.
He did not enter the season with catcher eligibility (at least not in most leagues), but Nola gained it early on and has been among the top fantasy contributors at that position so far. The 30-year-old is up to a .315 average and .920 OPS through 25 games. Nola has been locked into the five hole for Seattle and Tom Murphy (foot) remains out indefinitely.

Mitch Garver DH | SEA
Twins' Mitch Garver: Won't return this weekend
Garver (right intercostal strain) will not return from the IL when eligible this weekend, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. "I wouldn't say this is a quick, get to the end of 10 days, get ready to go," said president of baseball operations Derek Falvey. "We were hopeful of that, but he's remained a little bit sore."
Ryan Jeffers and Alex Avila will continue to split catching duties with Garver out. It sounds like there's a risk Garver may be out until mid-September.
-
Martin Maldonado C | SD
Astros' Martin Maldonado: On bench for Game 2
Maldonado isn't in the lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Maldonado went 0-for-2 with a walk and one strikeout in the first game of the doubleheader, and he'll take a seat for Game 2. Dustin Garneau will start behind the plate in his absence.

Jonah Heim C | ATH
Athletics' Jonah Heim: Making major-league debut
Heim is starting Tuesday against the Rangers.
Heim will bat ninth in his first taste of major-league action as he takes the place of Sean Murphy behind the dish. Despite his start Tuesday, Heim should continue to mainly play a backup role in the immediate future. The 25-year-old slashed .358/.412/.557 with four home runs at Triple-A last season.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Athletics' Sean Murphy: Not starting Tuesday
Murphy isn't in Tuesday's lineup against the Rangers.
Murphy went 1-for-7 with one RBI and five strikeouts over the past two games, and he'll take a seat Tuesday. Jonah Heim will make his major-league debut at catcher in his place.
-
Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Not starting Tuesday
Grandal isn't in Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates.
Grandal started three consecutive games after returning from a back issue, but he'll get a day off against Pittsburgh. James McCann will start behind the plate Tuesday.
-
Sandy Leon C | ATL
Indians' Sandy Leon: Activated by Cleveland
Leon was activated from the family medical emergency list Monday.
Leon was away from the team for six days, but he'll return to the active roster. Although he saw relatively consistent playing time before his absence, Roberto Perez has since reclaimed his spot as the team's primary catcher.

Jonah Heim C | ATH
Athletics' Jonah Heim: Gets call to majors
Heim was recalled from Oakland's alternate training site Monday.
Austin Allen was optioned down in a corresponding move, so Heim will take over the backup catcher duties for now. This will be the 25-year-old's first taste of the big leagues. He hit .358/.412/.557 with four home runs and a 15.1 percent strikeout rate in 119 plate appearances at Triple-A last year.
