Orioles' Austin Wynns: Sent to Triple-A
The Orioles optioned Wynns to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
With Pedro Severino apparently healthy again after battling an illness that left him unavailable for Friday's win over the Red Sox, there was no need for the Orioles to carry Wynns any longer as the backup catcher behind Chance Sisco. Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Idle for Saturday's contest
Sanchez is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Sanchez played all nine innings in Friday's series-opening 8-2 win over the Rockies but had a rough day both at the plate and behind the dish. He finished 0-for-4 with a walk and a run scored and was charged with catcher's interference in the fifth inning, bringing Sanchez's error total up to 12 for the season. Austin Romine will fill in for him Saturday, but expect Sanchez to resume catching duties in the series finale Sunday.

Royals' Cam Gallagher: Out of lineup Friday
Gallagher is not in the lineup for Friday's game at Cleveland.
Gallagher has alternated starts over the last five games and that trend continues Friday with Meibrys Viloria starting behind the plate. It's not fully clear how playing time will be divided following the departure of Martin Maldonado via trade, but the 26-year-old Gallagher figures to see increased opportunities, regardless.

Indians' Li-Jen Chu: Placed on IL
Chu (oblique) was placed on the 7-day IL at Double-A Akron with a left oblique strain.
This will leave Logan Ice to handle the full-time catching duties while Chu recovers. Prior to the injury, the two backstops were spending relatively equal time behind the plate. In 60 games with Double-A Akron, the 25-year-old Chu is slashing .229/.290/.327 with five home runs and 25 RBI across 210 plate appearances.
