Ivan Herrera C | STL
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Stays hot with four RBI
Herrera went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 10-4 win over the Royals.
Despite playing just 13 games so far, Herrera already has a trio of three-hit performances in 2025. Over his first 50 plate appearances, the 24-year-old backstop is slashing a robust .419/.480/.907 with five home runs, six doubles, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored. Although those figures are unsustainable, Herrera is certainly worth a look in the majority of mixed leagues for those in need of help at catcher.

Dalton Rushing C | LAD
Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Gets on base three times in debut
Rushing went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored in Thursday's 19-2 win over the Athletics.
Rushing got a fun first taste of major-league action in this lopsided win in his debut. He didn't look out of place, striking out just once and scoring each time he got on base. The 24-year-old was slashing .308/.424/.514 over 31 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his call-up Wednesday. He slots in as the backup to Will Smith at catcher, but Rushing can also push the struggling Michael Conforto for playing time in left field since Smith is likely to catch 4-to-5 games per week.

Manager Brian Snitker said Thursday that Baldwin could be in line for more playing time going forward.

Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Behind plate for MLB debut
Rushing is making his MLB debut Thursday night against the Athletics, starting at catcher and batting seventh.
With Will Smith getting to rest Thursday, Rushing will get his first major-league action. Rushing was called up Wednesday with Austin Barnes being designated for assignment. While Rushing will serve as the backup catcher, he may also find some time at first base or left field. The left-handed batter is set to get his first plate appearances against A's right-hander Osvaldo Bido.

Sam Huff C | SF
Giants' Sam Huff: Singles in loss
Huff went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Diamondbacks.
The 27-year-old received the starting nod behind the plate against southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez. Huff lined a single into left field in the second inning before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly. The catcher has made four appearances in May, slashing .167/.154/.167 with a 61.5 percent strikeout rate across 13 plate appearances.

Sean Murphy C | ATL
Braves' Sean Murphy: Resting Thursday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.
Murphy will take a seat for the day game after he went 0-for-3 while catching eight innings of Wednesday's 5-4 loss. Drake Baldwin will fill in for Murphy behind the dish Thursday, and manager Brian Snitker suggested Tuesday that the rookie backstop could work his way into a timeshare behind the dish, per David O'Brien of The Athletic. Murphy has produced a strong .819 OPS over 27 games this season, but Baldwin has performed even better over a similar sample, slashing .338/.390/.563 across 77 plate appearances.

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Four hits in doubleheader
Herrera went 4-for-8 with a double and two runs scored as the Cardinals split Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Phillies.
Herrera missed over a month due to a left knee bone bruise. Since his return last week, he's gone 7-for-18 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and four runs scored, including an impressive performance in Wednesday's doubleheader. He was the designated hitter in the matinee game before returning to catching duties in the nightcap. He's had a hot bat in limited action this season, hitting .385 with five homers, 14 RBI, 10 runs scored, four doubles and no stolen bases over 12 contests.

Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Goes deep in nightcap
Realmuto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 14-7 loss to the Cardinals in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Realmuto is playing well in May, going 10-for-35 (.286) with five extra-base hits and seven RBI over 10 games this month. Overall, the catcher is at a .250/.327/.409 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored and four stolen bases over 36 contests this season.
