Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Lands on injured list
The Dodgers placed Rushing on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a bone bruise in his right shin, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
CT scans on Rushing's leg confirmed he didn't suffer a fracture after fouling a ball off his leg Friday, though he will still need to spend time on the injured list. Ben Rortvedt is expected to make a handful of starts at catcher with Will Smith nursing a hand injury, and the Dodgers will promote Chuckie Robinson from Triple-A to serve as extra backstop depth.

James McCann C | ARI
Diamondbacks' James McCann: Back in lineup
McCann (back) will start at catcher and bat sixth Saturday against the Red Sox.
McCann has been sidelined since Aug. 29 due to lower-back tightness, but he's now been cleared to return behind the plate to catch Brandon Pfaadt while batting sixth.

Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Out of Saturday's lineup
Rushing (shin) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Rushing wasn't able to walk off the field under his own power after fouling a ball off his right leg Friday, and he'll remain on the bench for Saturday's contest while he recovers. Ben Rortvedt will draw the start behind home plate as a result and bat ninth.

Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Sitting Saturday
Stephenson isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.
Stephenson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in his return from the injured list Friday, and the Reds will sit him down Saturday in order to ease him back into MLB action. Jose Trevino will catch instead for starter Brady Singer and bat eighth.

Riley Adams C | WAS
Nationals' Riley Adams: Sitting down Saturday
Adams isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
Adams will retreat to the bench Saturday after going 1-for-3 with a walk during Friday's loss. Jorge Alfaro will fill in as Washington's catcher and bat third.

Brian Navarreto C | MIA
Marlins' Brian Navarreto: Pops first career homer
Navarreto launched a two-run home run as a pinch hitter in Friday's loss to the Phillies.
Entering the game in the eighth inning with the Marlins getting routed 9-1, Navarreto got hold of a Tanner Banks fastball for his first career big-league homer. It was the first appearance for the 30-year-old backstop since he was added to the roster at the beginning of September, and his playing time will likely remain scarce with Agustin Ramirez and Liam Hicks getting most of the catcher reps for Miami.

Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Returns to action Friday
Stephenson started at catcher and went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.
Stephenson was activated from the injured list Friday and will cope with a fractured thumb going forward. His mitt has been fitted for a thumb guard, so Stephenson will be able to start behind the plate while also serving as a designated hitter, something he's done 17 times in 2025.

Hunter Goodman RF | COL
Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Stays on fire in win
Goodman went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, an RBI double and a walk in Friday's 3-0 win over the Padres.
Goodman has rattled off three straight three-hit games, and he has four of them over his last six contests. He's also racked up 10 RBI in that longer span, which has all been at hitter-friendly Coors Field. The catcher is up to a .285/.331/.538 slash line with 28 homers, 85 RBI, 66 runs scored, 25 doubles, four triples and one stolen base over 124 games this season.

Dalton Rushing C | LAD
Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Battling bruised shin
Rushing was pulled from Friday's game versus Baltimore with a right lower-leg contusion.
Rushing needed to be helped off the field after fouling a ball off his leg in the sixth inning, but the fact that the Dodgers are calling his injury a bruise suggests he managed to escape without any fractures. Los Angeles is expected to be without Will Smith (hand) for the entirety of the series against the O's, so Rushing's injury could spell increased playing time for Ben Rortvedt.
