Tomas Nido C | DET
Mets' Tomas Nido: Returns to familiar bench role
Nido is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
Nido started behind the dish in Saturday's 2-1 loss and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, but he'll be back on the bench for the series finale while James McCann catches for starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco. Given that Nido has picked up five starts in August to McCann's nine, Nido looks like the clear No. 2 backstop for New York.

Elias Diaz C | KC
Rockies' Elias Diaz: Gets maintenance day
Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Diaz is getting a routine maintenance day after he went 1-for-8 while starting the past two games at catcher. Dom Nunez replaces Diaz behind the dish.

Alex Jackson C | MIN
Marlins' Alex Jackson: Resting Sunday
Jackson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.
After catching three consecutive games for Miami while going 2-for-12 with a home run and a pair of walks, Jackson will get some routine maintenance for the series finale. Jorge Alfaro -- who has been serving as Miami's everyday left fielder of late -- will replace Jackson behind the dish.

Omar Narvaez C | HOU
Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Not starting Sunday
Narvaez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.
After catching the second game of Saturday's twin bill, Narvaez will take a seat due to the quick turnaround for Sunday's series finale. Manny Pina will step in behind the dish, catching for starting pitcher Eric Lauer.

Tres Barrera C | WAS
Nationals' Tres Barrera: Gets breather
Barrera is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Barrera caught each of the Nationals' previous three games, so he'll just be getting a breather for the series finale. The 26-year-old's recent workload would suggest he's viewed as the team's No. 1 backstop ahead of Riley Adams, who will catch for starting pitcher Paolo Espino on Sunday.
-
Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Rests Sunday
D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
After catching the first two games of the series while going 2-for-9 with a home run, d'Arnaud will get some maintenance for Sunday's matinee affair. Stephen Vogt will catch starting pitcher Drew Smyly on Sunday.

Tyler Stephenson C | CIN
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Slugs eighth homer
Stephenson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Phillies.
He spoiled a bid for a combined no-hitter, much less a combined shutout, by taking Archie Bradley deep to lead off the eighth inning. Stephenson has homered in consecutive starts, giving him eight long balls on the season, and he's batting an impressive .323 (10-for-31) through 11 games in August.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Breaks up no-hitter with homer
Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Mets.
The Dodgers' catcher played spoiler, ending Taijuan Walker's no-hit bid with a solo shot in the seventh inning that tied the game at one. Add this to Smith's game-winning homer the day previous at Citi Field and the Louisville product is putting together quite the series.

Jacob Stallings C | BAL
Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Sitting nightcap Saturday
Stallings is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Brewers.
Stallings went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a walk in the afternoon blowout. Michael Perez will start behind the dish and bat eighth Saturday night.
