  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Set to undergo MRI

Realmuto (hip) will undergo an MRI, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.

Realmuto left Saturday's game against the Marlins with hip discomfort and wasn't in the lineup for either of the games in Sunday's twin bill. Manager Joe Girardi wasn't able to provide a timetable for his return following Sunday's doubleheader, but Realmuto's MRI could help determine the severity of the issue.

  • Phillies' Rafael Marchan: Joins big club

The Phillies selected Marchan's contract from their alternate training site ahead of the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Marlins.

Philadelphia is in need of a healthy backstop with J.T. Realmuto (hip) unavailable for either end of the doubleheader, so Marchan will make the jump to the majors without having ever appearaed above the High-A level. Andrew Knapp, who worked behind the plate in the Phillies' 2-1 loss in the first game of the twin bill, will achieve the rare feat of making two starts at catcher in a doubleheader, as he's in the lineup again for Game 2. The Phillies may not be keen on having Knapp catch all seven innings of the contest, however, so Marchan could be summoned off the bench for his MLB debut at some point during the game.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Not playing Game 2

Realmuto (hip) is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Marlins, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Realmuto will sit out both games of the twin bill after leaving Saturday's contest with hip discomfort. Andrew Knapp receives another start behind the plate, and the Phillies called up Rafael Marchan to provide catching depth.

  • Joey Bart C | PIT

Giants' Joey Bart: Out of Game 1 lineup

Bart is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Padres, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bart will head to the bench after starting the previous four games and going 4-for-14 during that stretch. Chadwick Tromp will catch for Johhny Cueto for the right-hander's third straight start.

  • Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Receives Sunday off

Stallings is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Stallings started the past four games for the Buccos and will receive a breather after going 2-for-13 with two doubles and two RBI during that stretch. John Ryan Murphy takes over behind the plate Sunday for Pittsburgh.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Remains out Game 1

Realmuto (hip) is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Marlins, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Realmuto exited Saturday's contest during the eighth inning with hip discomfort, and it remains unclear if he'll be available for either of Sunday's contests. However, the fact the Phillies didn't promote a catcher when announcing roster moves early in the day could bode well for his outlook. Andrew Knapp will start behind the plate in the matinee.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Not in Sunday's lineup

Narvaez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

Narvaez hasn't started back-to-back games in nearly two weeks as he continues to struggle with a .583 OPS and 31.1 percent strikeout rate. Jacob Nottingham receives the start behind the plate for Milwaukee, batting ninth.

  • Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Not starting Sunday

Barnhart is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Barnhart walked in both his plate appearances Saturday and will return to the bench for the series finale. Tyler Stephenson will start behind the plate and bat sixth Sunday for the Reds.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Leaves with hip discomfort

Realmuto was removed from Saturday's win over the Marlins with hip discomfort, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic reports.

The 29-year-old went 0-for-4 with two runs and a walk before suffering the injury running to first base during the eighth inning. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, and Realmuto will be further evaluated Sunday.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Three hits in nightcap Friday

Realmuto went 3-for-4 with an RBI during a 5-3 loss to the Marlins in the second game of Friday's doubleheader.

After going 0-for-3 with a run scored as the catcher in the matinee, Realmuto got a partial breather in the nightcap as the DH and took advantage. Through 40 games this season, he's slashing .274/.361/.541 with 11 homers, four steals, 30 RBI and 31 runs.
