Rockies' Elias Diaz: Picks up another start

Diaz will start at catcher and bat sixth Sunday against the Mariners, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

After going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored Friday in his Rockies debut, Diaz will re-enter the lineup in the series finale while lefty Justus Sheffield takes the hill for the Mariners. Tony Wolters is still locked in as the Rockies' top catcher against right-handed pitching, but Diaz may have leapfrogged Drew Butera as the team's primary backstop versus southpaws.

  • Giants' Chadwick Tromp: Out of Sunday's lineup

Tromp is not in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers.

Tromp started the past three games and will take a seat after going 3-for-11 with a run scored and four strikeouts. Tyler Heineman will work behind the plate in Sunday's series finale.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Day off Sunday

Narvaez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Narvaez started the past three games and will receive Sunday off after going 3-for-11 with one walk and four strikeouts in that span. Manny Pina will work behind the plate in the series finale.

  • Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Sitting Game 1

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies.

The 31-year-old was never likely to start both games of the twinbill, and he'll take a seat for the matinee. D'Arnaud should return to the lineup for the nightcap, while Tyler Flowers starts behind the plate for Game 1.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Sitting Game 1

Realmuto is not in the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Braves.

Realmuto is carrying a three-game homer streak and six-game hit streak, but he'll take a seat for the matinee in Sunday's twin bill. He should be in the lineup for Game 2. Andrew Knapp will start behind the plate and bat ninth in Game 1.

  • Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Sitting in series finale

Stallings is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Stallings is getting a routine breather after starting at catcher each of the last two days and going a combined 3-for-5 with three walks at the plate. John Ryan Murphy will be behind the dish in the series finale.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Launches fourth homer

Realmuto went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Saturday's 5-0 win over Atlanta.

His fourth-inning blast off Kyle Wright opened the scoring, and gave Jake Arrieta and the Philly bullpen all the offense they would need. Realmuto continues to light it up to begin the season, going 9-for-27 (.333) through seven games with four homers and nine RBI.

  • Padres' Francisco Mejia: Heads to bench

Mejia is not in the lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Mejia and Austin Hedges have come as close to an even split as possible behind the plate through the first 15 games of the year. Mejia has been in the lineup eight times, while Hedges, who starts Saturday, has gotten the nod on seven occasions.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Not in Saturday's lineup

Smith is not starting Saturday against the Giants.

Smith and Austin Barnes have split the playing time very evenly behind the plate this season, with Smith starting eight games and Barnes starting seven. Barnes will catch Clayton Kershaw in Saturday's contest.

  • Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Sits for second straight game

Barnhart remains on the bench Saturday against Milwaukee.

Barnhart opened the year on the paternity list but then started seven of the Reds' next eight games upon returning to the lineup. He's now sat for two straight, with Curt Casali again getting the nod behind the plate.
