Vazquez went 3-for-8 with a double and two strikeouts through the first two games of the series and will receive a breather in the finale. Kevin Plawecki will start behind the plate and bat ninth in his place.

Royals' Cam Gallagher: Out with shoulder injury
Gallagher was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right shoulder impingement. The move is retroactive to June 17.
Gallagher hasn't seen game action since Wednesday, so the transaction will be backdated by a few days. The 28-year-old is without a timetable for his return but will be eligible to be activated next Sunday. Sebastian Rivero was recalled from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move and will serve as the backup to Salvador Perez.

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Stays hot with solo homer
Sanchez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.
Sanchez kicked off a New York comeback in the sixth inning with a 416-foot solo shot to left field. The homer was his 11th of the season and fifth in his past nine games. Over that span, the backstop is slashing .313/.353/.813 with eight runs and eight RBI.

Smith went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and a walk in Saturday's 9-3 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Smith put the Dodgers on the board in the first inning, plating a pair of runs with a 367-foot homer to right field. He collected two more base knocks in the contest for his second three-hit performance of the season. Smith has gone deep three times in his past seven games, slashing .333/.462/.857 with six RBI and only two strikeouts over that span.
