  • Gary Sanchez C | MIL

Orioles' Gary Sanchez: Drives in two runs

Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a two-run single in Friday's 5-3 win over the Yankees.

Sanchez got the Orioles on the board early with a two-run single in the first inning. He has started in four games since returning from a wrist injury June 14, and over that span he has gone 6-for-14 (.429) with five runs scored, two home runs and seven RBI.

  • Riley Adams C | WAS

Nationals' Riley Adams: Snaps slump with homer

Adams went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Adams rarely gets much playing time even as a backup catcher. He certainly hasn't hit his way into a larger role -- prior to Friday, he was 0-for-30 with 13 strikeouts over his previous 11 games, with his last hit being a homer May 6 versus the Guardians. The 28-year-old has a .103/.133/.276 slash line with three homers, eight RBI, six runs scored and one double over 21 contests this season, and he currently poses no threat to Keibert Ruiz's playing time.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Sitting down Friday

O'Hoppe isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros.

O'Hoppe will grab a seat on the bench for Friday's series opener after going 2-for-10 with two walks and a run scored in the Angels' last series against the Yankees. Travis d'Arnaud will take over behind the dish and bat fifth.

  • Keibert Ruiz C | WAS

    Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Resting Friday

Ruiz is not in the Nationals' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Friday.

Ruiz -- who went 1-for-12 over his last three starts -- will get a breather for Friday's series opener. Riley Adams will serve behind home plate and bat eighth while catching pitches from Nationals southpaw MacKenzie Gore.

  • Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Scratched Friday

Rutschman was scratched from the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees due to left abdominal tightness, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Initially slated to DH and bat second, Rutschman has been removed from Friday's starting nine. He can be considered day-to-day due to the abdominal injury. Jackson Holliday will now DH and bat leadoff.

  • Bo Naylor C | CLE

    Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting Friday

Naylor is not in the Guardians' starting lineup against the Athletics on Friday.

Naylor will get a breather while Austin Hedges serves behind home plate and bats ninth. Naylor is in the midst of a mini-slump, having gone 0-for-17 with nine strikeouts over his last five starts.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Diagnosed with hairline fracture

Moreno was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his right pointer finger, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Moreno landed on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to what was initially listed as a right hand contusion. Further tests showed a more serious injury, and it appears unlikely that he'll be activated off the IL when eligible June 27. A clearer timeline for Moreno's return should be established when he returns from baseball activities, but he is in jeopardy of being sidelined through the All-Star break. Aramis Garcia was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Thursday and will serve as the Diamondbacks' backup catcher behind Jose Herrera for as long as Moreno is sidelined.

  • Diamondbacks' Adrian Del Castillo: Dealing with back issue

Del Castillo was placed on Triple-A Reno's 7-day injured list Friday due to lower back discomfort, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Del Castillo spent over two months on the injured list to start the 2025 season due to a shoulder injury, but just 10 days after being reinstated, Del Castillo is back on the shelf due to a back injury. While the injury isn't expected to be a long-term issue, he'll be sidelined for at least one week.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Late add to lineup

Jeffers is now batting fifth and serving as the DH on Friday against Milwaukee.

Jeffers was left off the Twins' initial lineup but entered the starting nine after Trevor Larnach (hand) was scratched. Jeffers is 5-for-11 in his last three games.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Monster performance in win

Raleigh went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a walk, three RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base in Fridays 9-4 win over the Cubs.

Raleigh went deep in the first and seventh innings, recording his sixth multi-homer game of the season. Through 16 June contests, he's tallied 11 extra-base hits, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored and three steals. The 28-year-old leads the majors in home runs (29), is tied for first in RBI (63) and ranks second in OPS (1.025) across 319 plate appearances in what continues to be an MVP-caliber first half.
