Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the 3-2 loss Friday to the Orioles.

Murphy provided his third two-hit game of the season Friday. The catcher is slashing just .206/.324/.444 in 20 games. However, he has three home runs in his last four starts, flashing some of the power that he showed in the minor leagues. He hasn't played a full season in the majors yet, but he has 20-homer potential. Murphy's numbers in 2020 stretched over a full season gives him 19 home runs, 38 RBI and 57 runs scored.

Kirk went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI in Friday's 13-5 win over Atlanta.

The rookie catcher isn't noted for his power, but he took Drew Smyly deep in the fourth inning and pounded an Edgar Santana offering over the fence in the fifth for the first multi-homer game of his young career. Kirk heads into May hitting only .231 with three home runs and eight RBI in 16 games, but if his bat continues to heat up, the starting job behind the plate is there for the taking in Toronto.

Narvaez left Friday's game against the Dodgers due to left hamstring tightness, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Narvaez suffered the injury while running out a single in the bottom of the sixth inning, and he was immediately removed from the game after reaching first base. Prior to his departure, he went 1-for-3 with a strikeout. It's not yet clear whether Narvaez will be forced to miss additional time.

Narvaez exited Friday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent left leg injury, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Narvaez singled in the bottom of the sixth inning, but he grabbed his left leg after reaching first base and was replaced by a pinch runner. The nature and severity of the issue aren't yet clear.

Contreras exited Friday's game against the Reds due to mild right thigh tightness, Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Contreras hit a single in the fifth inning Friday, but he exited with a trainer once he reached first base. While the Cubs described his injury as minor, it's not clear whether Contreras will be forced to miss additional time. Prior to his departure, Contreras went 2-for-3 with a double.

Realmuto was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Mets due to left hand soreness, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Realmuto was a late scratch Friday and was replaced behind the dish by Andrew Knapp. It's not yet clear whether Realmuto will be able to return to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Stassi isn't starting Friday's game against the Mariners, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Stassi returned to the field Wednesday and went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts. Kurt Suzuki will start behind the plate and bat ninth.

Nola is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Nola is likely to eventually fill an important role for the Padres, as he's hit .270/.346/.460 through his first 128 games, numbers that would play anywhere, not just behind the plate. He made his season debut off the bench Wednesday after missing the start of the year with a broken finger and will wait at least one more day before making his first start of the year. Victor Caratini remains the starting catcher Friday with Yu Darvish on the mound.

Jansen is not in the lineup Friday against the Braves.

The 26-year-old remains hitless in 33 at-bats over his past 12 appearances and will head to the bench Friday. Alejandro Kirk will start behind the plate and has hits in each of his past three games, so he could displace Jansen atop the depth chart.

Realmuto was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Mets for undisclosed reasons, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Andrew Knapp will replace him behind the plate. More information on Realmuto's absence should be made available Friday night.
