Casali went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Cubs.

Casali homered in the eighth inning off Casey Sadler, his second home run of the campaign. He's gotten consistent playing time early this season, but Tucker Barnhart was activated from the paternity list Tuesday. As a result, Casali will likely see his playing time decrease significantly.

McCann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the second game of the White Sox's doubleheader against Cleveland on Tuesday.

McCann was out of the lineup in the first game, but took Adam Plutko deep in the second inning of the nightcap. He now has two home runs on the season, despite appearing in the starting lineup on only two occasions through five games. McCann will continue to serve as the club's backup catcher and could draw occasional at-bats as the designated hitter.

Plawecki went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Mets.

Getting the start behind the plate against his former club, Plawecki took full advantage of the opportunity. Christian Vazquez is locked in as Boston's starting catcher, but Plawecki seems well ahead of Jonathan Lucroy on the depth chart and could see a couple starts a week this season as Vazquez's primary backup.

Perez is being evaluated for a sore right shoulder, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The 31-year-old apparently sustained the injury during Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader, though he was never removed from the contest. Sandy Leon started the nightcap -- and was likely to do so regardless of the injury situation -- but Cleveland did call up Beau Taylor to bolster the team's catching depth. Perez's status is expected to be updated Wednesday.

Nola was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Angels for undisclosed reasons, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Nola was originally set to start behind the plate and bat sixth, and the reason for the late change remains unclear. Joe Odom was called up from the taxi squad and is starting in his place.

Grandal is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against Cleveland.

Grandal started behind the plate for Game 1 and went 1-for-5 with an RBI and three strikeouts. James McCann will be the catcher for Carlos Rodon in the nightcap.

Perez is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Perez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Game 1 and will receive a breather for the nightcap. Sandy Leon will operate behind the plate Tuesday night for Cleveland.

D'Arnaud (illness) worked out and felt good Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Although he tested negative for COVID-19, d'Arnaud has been on the injured list after he exhibited symptoms. However, he's been cleared to work out with the team, and manager Brian Snitker said that he could be an option for Wednesday's home opener against the Rays. Fellow catcher Tyler Flowers (illness) has also been progressing in his recovery after showing COVID-19 symptoms and could make his return Wednesday as well.

Tromp's (hamstring) contract was selected by the Giants on Tuesday.

Tromp has been dealing with hamstring tightness over the past several days but will join the major-league roster after Rob Brantly was designated for assignment Tuesday. The 25-year-old should serve as the backup catcher behind Tyler Heineman.

Murphy will hit the bench Tuesday against the Rockies.

Murphy sits for the second time in the first five games. Austin Allen will again get the nod behind the plate.
