  • Marlins' J.T. Realmuto: Out of lineup Saturday

Realmuto will hit the bench Saturday against the Mets, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Realmuto sits for the second time in three games. Bryan Holaday will get the start behind the plate in his place.

  • James McCann C | ARI

Tigers' James McCann: Out of Saturday's lineup

McCann is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

With the Tigers simply playing out the string in a losing season, they'll give McCann a day off as Grayson Greiner slips into the lineup. McCann, who has a disappointing .220/.267/.314 slash line in 117 games this season, will likely start the season finale Sunday.

  • Austin Wynns C | TEX

Orioles' Austin Wynns: On bench for Game 1 vs. Astros

Wynns is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader versus Houston, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Wynns will head to the bench after going 1-for-3 with two strikeouts Friday. In his place, Caleb Joseph will catch Dylan Bundy and bat ninth.

  • Astros' Martin Maldonado: Sitting for nightcap

Maldonado will not start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

As expected, the Astros won't require either of their catchers to work both halves of the doubleheader. Maldonado will catch and bat eighth in the first game, with Brian McCann entering the lineup for the evening matchup.

  • Gary Sanchez C | MIL

Yankees' Gary Sanchez: Out of Saturday's lineup

Sanchez is out of the lineup versus the Red Sox on Saturday, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

Sanchez will get the afternoon off after going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double during Friday's victory. Austin Romine will catch Domingo German and bat eighth in his absence.

  • Cubs' Willson Contreras: Not in Saturday's lineup

Contreras is out of the lineup against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Contreras will receive a standard day off after starting the past two games behind the plate. Victor Caratini will catch Cole Hamels and bat eighth in the lineup during Saturday's matinee.

  • Adam Moore C | TB

Rays' Adam Moore: Pops first homer

Moore went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Blue Jays.

It's his first homer for Tampa Bay this season, and his first in the majors since 2012 with the Royals. Moore and his .550 career OPS will head into next season as a depth catching option once again, whether for the Rays or for another organization.

  • Mitch Garver C | SEA

Twins' Mitch Garver: Collects six RBI on Friday

Garver went 4-for-5 with two singles, two doubles, six RBI and one run in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against White Sox.

Making his first start in over two weeks, Garver was the main catalyst in the Twins' big offensive night by driving in six of their 12 runs. It was only his third multi-hit performance since July 30, and he now owns a .268/.336/.416 slash line with 19 doubles, seven home runs and 45 RBI over 331 plate appearances in 2018.

  • Elias Diaz C | TEX

Pirates' Elias Diaz: Launches homer vs. Reds

Diaz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in Friday's victory over Cincinnati.

Diaz plated a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and clubbed a solo home run in the fourth. He's managed to take the field for just five games in September after missing most of the month with a hamstring issue. The 27-year-old is batting .286 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI through 81 games this season with just two games remaining in 2018.

  • Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Records five-hit night

Barnhart went 5-for-5 with a triple and a two-run home run in Friday's loss to Pittsburgh.

Barnhart went deep in the ninth inning and managed to cut the Pirates' lead to four, but the Reds would fall in the series opener. The 27-year-old had struggled at the dish in September prior to Friday's ballgame (.169 average through 20 games), but he'll look to end the season on a high note after putting together a multi-hit performance.
