On Sunday, Major League Baseball revealed the American League starting lineup for the 2014 All-Star Game, which will be held on July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis. Orioles catcher Matt Wieters was voted as a starter, but Royals catcher Salvador Perez will take his place behind the plate for the game. Other injured players will likely be replaced on the roster moving forward.

Indians catcher Yan Gomes went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer and a double in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Royals. The home run traveled 406 feet to center.

Gomes upped his average to .269, with 10 homers and 32 RBI in 264 at-bats.

Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco collected three hits -- all singles -- and one RBI in four at-bats Sunday against the Brewers. Mesoraco struck out in his only at-bat that didn't produce a single.

Mesoraco is batting .368 (21 for 57) over his last 16 games. He has five doubles, six home runs, 14 runs and 15 RBI in that span.

The Reds placed catcher Brayan Pena on the paternity list and recalled catcher Tucker Barnhart from Triple-A Louisville. Barnhart went 3 for 28 (.107) in a previous major-league stint this year.

Indians catcher Yan Gomes is absent from the Saturday lineup against Kansas City. George Kottaras is set to start at that spot.

Gomes has been struggling a bit a the plate recently after a hot stretch. He has five hits in his last 25 at-bats.

Reds starting catcher Devin Mesoraco will not be the Reds starting catcher Saturday against Milwaukee. He is "catching" a break as Brayan Pena will do the squatting behind the plate instead.

Mesoraco has been quite productive this season with a .313/.378/.642 stat line and 15 home runs in just 176 at-bats.

Indians catcher Yan Gomes maintained his consistency and production Tuesday night against the Dodgers not only by completing a triple play with a strike to second, but also with run-scoring doubles in the sixth and eighth innings.

Gomes, who has 30 RBI this season and has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games, sweetened his stat line to .268/.310/.425.

Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco went 2 for 4 with a solo home run in his team's 8-2 win over the Padres Tuesday.

Mesoraco hadn't homered in five games after going on a power tear a week ago, but racking up hits hasn't been a problem for the catcher. After smacking a ninth-inning blast Tuesday, Mesoraco has hit .314/.380/.645 with 15 home runs and 41 RBI in 172 at-bats.

Royals catcher Salvador Perez went 2 for 4 with a solo home run in his team's 6-1 win over the Twins Monday.

Perez wrapped up a productive June in style, boosting his average from .253 to .287 by the end of the month while knocking half of his 10 home runs during June. He has hit .287/.334/.455 with 29 RBI in 279 at-bats.
