Drake Baldwin C | ATL
Braves' Drake Baldwin: Sitting Wednesday
Baldwin is not in Atlanta's starting lineup against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
The lefty-hitting Baldwin started in Atlanta's last two games, but he'll rest Wednesday as the Dodgers send southpaw Blake Snell to the mound. Chadwick Tromp will serve behind home plate and bat eighth.

Gary Sanchez C | MIL
Orioles' Gary Sanchez: Gets second start of the season
Sanchez will start at catcher and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Sanchez will draw his second start through the Orioles' first six games of the season. With Adley Rutschman likely to shoulder one of the heavier workloads among catchers league-wide this season, Sanchez's playing time could be sporadic so long as Rutschman maintains good health.

Samuel Basallo C | BAL
Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Slow start at Triple-A
Basallo (elbow) has appeared in four games for Triple-A Norfolk so far this season, batting 2-for-12 with a solo home run and a walk.
Basallo has been limited to designated-hitter duties while he recovers from elbow inflammation, but the fact that he avoided a stint on the injured list to begin the season suggests he could be ready to resume catching duties in the coming weeks. The 20-year-old has returned to Norfolk after struggling in his first exposure to the International League late in the 2024 season, when he slashed .222/.267/.370 over 86 plate appearances following his promotion from Double-A Bowie.

Ivan Herrera C | STL
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Will try throwing from knees
Herrera will start throwing from his knees in hopes that it will help him better control the running game, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Baserunners are 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts against Herrera this season and 60-for-64 since the beginning of last year. The throwing problems have led to Herrera sometimes being removed from games he starts in the later innings when the Cardinals need to prioritize defense. Herrera clubbed three home runs in Wednesday's game versus the Angels, and the Cardinals want to keep his bat in the lineup as often as possible. Improving his throwing will help ensure that.

Elias Diaz C | KC
Padres' Elias Diaz: Getting rest Wednesday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Diaz will get some rest for the day game after he went 0-for-7 while starting behind the dish in the first two contests of the series. Martin Maldonado will handle the catching duties for San Diego on Wednesday.
-
Patrick Bailey C | SF
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Out of lineup Wednesday
Bailey is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.
It's a routine day off for Bailey, who will yield to Sam Huff at catcher. The switch-hitting Bailey is only 1-for-12 at the plate in his first five contests this season.
-
Miguel Amaya C | CHC
Cubs' Miguel Amaya: Absent from Wednesday's lineup
Amaya is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Athletics.
He'll sit in favor of Carson Kelly, who is getting his second start in the series after hitting for the cycle Monday. It's been a fairly even split between Amaya and Kelly so far this season in terms of playing time, with Amaya drawing five starts to Kelly's four.
-
Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mets' Luis Torrens: Resting Wednesday
Torrens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Torrens will get his first day off of the season after he started behind the plate in each of the Mets' first five games while going 4-for-14 with a home run, two doubles, one walk and two RBI. Hayden Senger will form a battery with starting pitcher Clay Holmes on Wednesday, but Torrens should see the bulk of the starts at catcher until Francisco Alvarez (hand) is ready to return from the injured list.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Sitting out afternoon game
Kirk is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Kirk caught Tuesday's night game, so he'll receive a breather for Wednesday's afternoon tilt. Tyler Heineman will do the catching for the series finale.
