Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Day off Friday
O'Hoppe is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Houston, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
O'Hoppe wore the golden sombrero in Thursday's loss to the Astros, striking out in all four of his plate appearances, so he'll get a breather in this one. Matt Thaiss is doing the catching for the Angels and will bat fifth.

Ryan Jeffers C | MIN
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Not in Friday's lineup
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.
Jeffers is mired in a 4-for-32 slump and will take a seat for Friday's series opener in Boston. Christian Vazquez will step in behind the plate to catch for right-hander David Festa.

Ben Rortvedt C | NYM
Rays' Ben Rortvedt: Grabbing seat Friday
Rortvedt is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.
Rortvedt is sporting an unsightly .136/.214/.173 batting line with a 32.6 percent strikeout rate since the beginning of August. He will yield to Logan Driscoll on Friday in the series opener.

Edgar Quero C | CHW
White Sox's Edgar Quero: Returning to action in Triple-A
Triple-A Charlotte activated Quero (back) from the 7-day injured list Thursday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.
Quero was placed on the 7-day injured list in late August after injuring his back, but he's healthy for the final week-plus of the season. The 21-year-old appeared to have a chance of making his MLB debut with the White Sox down the stretch prior to the injury, but that's increasingly unlikely with just nine big-league games left on the schedule.

Joey Bart C | PIT
Pirates' Joey Bart: Absent from lineup
Bart is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis.
Bart started each of the first three games of the series (two at catcher, one at designated hitter), but he'll take a seat for the finale. Yasmani Grandal will be behind the plate and bat eighth.

Connor Wong C | BOS
Red Sox's Connor Wong: Not in Boston lineup
Wong is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
It's a regular day off for Wong, who started at catcher in each of the first two games of the series. Danny Jansen will be behind the dish for Thursday's finale.

Ivan Herrera C | STL
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Racks up three hits
Herrera went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the Pirates.
Herrera is batting .320 (8-for-25) over eight games in September, though he's been in the backup role for much of the last week. Pedro Pages continues to see a slight edge for playing time behind the dish. Herrera has done enough to avoid being completely ignored with a .288/.354/.387 slash line, three home runs, five stolen bases, 23 RBI and 32 runs scored over 66 contests this season.
