Fortes is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Fortes has started 11 of Miami's first 14 games in June despite going 3-for-31 during that stretch, but he'll take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Christian Bethancourt will work behind the plate and bat ninth in his place.

The Mariners designated Zavala for assignment Tuesday.

Zavala has played in just 18 games this season and has a .154/.214/.282 slash line and 37.2 percent strikeout rate in 43 plate appearances. The Mariners already have Cal Raleigh and Mitch Garver on the big-league roster, so the club will roll with two catchers going forward.

Stallings went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Monday against the Dodgers.

Stallings has taken over as the Rockies' primary catcher in the absence of Elias Diaz (calf). He's started six of the team's last seven games, collecting seven hits across 18 at-bats with three RBI and four runs scored. Stallings has also hit cleanup in the past two contests.

Bailey went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk against the Cubs in Monday's 7-6 victory.

Bailey brought San Francisco to within two runs with his eighth-inning solo blast. It was just his second extra-base hit over his past 16 contests, a span in which he's batted .264 (14-for-53). Bailey has a modest five long balls on the campaign, but he's been solid offensively with a .286/.360/.435 slash line, 23 RBI, 18 runs, two steals, an 11.5 percent walk rate and a 19.0 percent strikeout rate over 179 plate appearances.

Alvarez went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI in Monday's win against Texas.

Alvarez singled and scored in the fifth inning before delivering RBI base hits in the sixth and eighth frames. He entered Monday's game in a 2-for-14 (.143) slump since returning from the injured list. Alvarez produced his first multi-hit game since April 11. He's now slashing .243/.282/.338 with 12 RBI through 23 games this season.

Marchan went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 9-2 victory over the Padres.

In his third big-league game since 2021, Marchan had a banner night, reaching base in each of his four at-bats and driving in a pair. On Friday, he hit his first home run, and he followed it up nicely with this showing. With J.T. Realmuto going down with a knee injury, Marchan's only competition for playing time is Garrett Stubbs, whose current slash line of .191/.267/.206 leaves a lot to be desired.

Contreras (head) is available to pinch-hit or enter the game defensively off the bench Monday versus the Angels, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Contreras will be forced to miss his second contest of the season after taking a shot to the head while applying the tag at home plate to finish Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds, but manager Pat Murphy said Monday that the catcher "is going to be fine." Contreras appears to have avoided any significant injury, which is music to the ears of fantasy managers who have reaped the benefits of his stellar play in 2024.

Contreras (head) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Contreras was evaluated for concussion following Sunday's 5-4 win over the Reds after his head collided with Stuart Fairchild on a tag at home plate in the ninth inning. With Contreras out for the series opener Monday, Gary Sanchez will start behind home plate and bat eighth against Halos right-hander Jose Soriano.

Knizner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Sam Huff will step in behind the dish in the series opener after Knizner started at catcher in all three of the Rangers' games in Seattle over the weekend while going 1-for-9. Top backstop Jonah Heim (personal) is on track to return from the paternity list Tuesday, so Knizner will soon move back to second on the depth chart and see his playing time trend toward.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta.

Kelly will get a breather after he started behind the plate both of the past two days. Jake Rogers will step in as the Tigers' starting catcher Monday.
