O'Hoppe was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks after taking a foul ball to the groin area, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

O'Hoppe writhed on the ground in pain for a few minutes after being struck by the foul ball in the sixth inning. He was eventually able to walk off the field with trainers but still appeared to be feeling the effects of the impact. It's not yet clear how much time -- if any -- the backstop will need to miss.

Astros manager Joe Espada expects Diaz (finger) to be available to return to the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Diaz will miss a third straight start Wednesday in San Francisco due to a sore right index finger, but Espada indicated the catcher is nearly recovered and will be available off the bench. Espada also noted that Diaz's finger issue primarily affects his throwing and accuracy, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic, so it's possible that Diaz could return to the lineup as a designated hitter initially.

Diaz is still feeling the effects of a foul tip off his right index finger and will miss a third straight start. He remains day-to-day and could be ready to play Friday versus the Tigers after the Astros' off day Thursday. Victor Caratini will handle the catching duties again Wednesday.

Raleigh went 2-for-4 with three RBI from a pair of doubles in a win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

The red-hot backstop delivered in the clutch yet again Tuesday, just a day after capping off a wild comeback with a walk-off grand slam. Raleigh cut the Mariners' deficit to one run in the third inning with his first double, plating Julio Rodriguez, before following it up with a seventh-inning two-bagger that brought home Rodriguez and Josh Rojas with tying and game-winning runs. Raleigh now has a jaw-dropping nine RBI in his last three games alone, and his season total of 42 is comfortably a team-high figure.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Jansen will take a seat for the day game after he caught all nine innings of Tuesday's 3-0 win while going 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Alejandro Kirk will replace Jansen behind the dish.

Smith went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer, a walk and two runs scored in Tuesday's 15-2 win over the Rangers.

Smith got off to a quick start by taking Dane Dunning deep in the first inning to put the Dodgers up 3-0. He'd wind up reaching base three more times before all was said and done and racked up his seventh game of at least three hits this year. Smith has eight hits and six RBI in seven games so far this month. He's now slashing .296/.364/.509 with 10 homers, 42 RBI, 35 runs and a 23:38 BB:K in 247 plate appearances and is trending toward a second-career All-Star appearance this summer.

Stallings will start at catcher and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Stallings will be getting his second straight start while Elias Diaz remains day-to-day after straining his left calf in Monday's 5-0 loss to Minnesota. Though he's seen light usage for much of the season while Diaz has largely stayed healthy, Stallings has produced well in his limited opportunities, producing an .802 OPS over 104 plate appearances.

As expected, Diaz will get another day to rest his left calf injury. The hope is that he will be ready to play Friday in Denver versus the Pirates following the Rockies' off day Thursday, but his availability for the weekend isn't guaranteed. Jacob Stallings will start at catcher Wednesday.

Moreno went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Angels.

Both of Moreno's doubles were scorched off the bat at 106 MPH. The second one traveled 407 feet to center and would have gone out in 18 other ballparks. It was the second time this season that he's tallied at least three hits in a game and also his second time with multiple extra-base hits. The 24-year-old backstop now has five extra-base hits this month after tallying just eight over his first 46 games of the year. He's slashing .240/.314/.345 with two homers, 22 RBI, 20 runs and an 18:30 BB:K in 191 plate appearances.

Jeffers is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rockies.

Jeffers started at catcher in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies, so he will get a breather for Wednesday's afternoon tilt. Christian Vazquez will be behind the plate for the rubber game of the series.
