Kyle Manzardo DH | CLE
Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Hitting bench Sunday
Manzardo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
Though Manzardo is on the bench for the second game in a row, he ended up recording a double over two at-bats in Saturday's 7-2 loss. The Guardians may be looking to give Manzardo a proper rest day Sunday, with Jose Ramirez getting a day out of the infield and replacing the rookie as Cleveland's designated hitter.

Justin Foscue 2B | TEX
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Not starting against righty
Foscue is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.
Though he was deployed at designated hitter both of the past two days when the Angels sent left-handed starters to the hill, the right-handed-hitting Foscue will hit the bench for a fourth straight matchup with a right-hander (Caden Dana). Even with the recent move of Corey Seager (hip) to the injured list opening up a spot in Texas' everyday lineup versus righties, the Rangers seem inclined to rotate a number of players at DH rather than committing to Foscue in a full-time role.

Masataka Yoshida DH | BOS
Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: On bench Saturday
Yoshida is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.
Yoshida will take a seat Saturday as the White Sox trot out left-hander Garrett Crochet. Rob Refsnyder will take over at DH and bat third.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Goes yard twice in win
Alvarez went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in Friday's 8-0 win over the Diamondbacks.
The slugger connected for a three-run shot off Brandon Pfaadt in the fifth inning before launching another one off Jordan Montgomery just one frame later. The multi-homer performance was Alvarez's seventh of the season, tying the Astros' franchise record set by Chris Carter in 2014. Three of those power displays have come in the last nine games, a stretch in which Alvarez is batting .382 (13-for-34) with seven homers and 12 RBI.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Athletics' Brent Rooker: Plates two in three-hit effort
Rooker went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Tigers.
Rooker had an RBI double in the 10th inning and a sacrifice fly in the 12th, tying the game on both plays. He's gone 19-for-42 (.452) during a 10-game hitting streak. Rooker is at a .301/.373/.589 slash line with 35 homers, 99 RBI, 74 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 125 contests this year.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Athletics' Brent Rooker: Homers twice in loss
Rooker went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Mariners.
Rooker took Bryan Woo deep in the fifth inning and then Andres Munoz in the ninth but still couldn't lead his team to a win. Rooker also extended his hitting streak to a career-best nine games in the process. The 29-year-old now has 35 home runs this season, surpassing Jose Ramirez for fifth most in the American League. Rooker is seeking to become the first Oakland hitter since 2021 to finish a season top five in the American League homer race.

Mitch Garver C | SEA
Mariners' Mitch Garver: Four-RBI breakout Wednesday
Garver went 2-for-5 with a two-run double, an RBI single, a run-scoring groundout and a run in a win over the Athletics on Wednesday.
Garver had a hand in each of the Mariners' first three runs, driving in Victor Robles and Randy Arozarena with a second-inning double before pushing Robles across again in the third via a timely single. The veteran accounted for Seattle's 15th run of the night hours later in the eighth inning with an RBI groundout, closing the book on his first four-RBI tally in exactly a calendar year and a day. Garver is still limping along with co-career-worst .167 average, but he's managed to record 44 RBI thanks in part to having knocked 29 of his 56 hits for extra bases.

Jonathan Aranda 1B | TB
Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Makes second start since promotion
Aranda went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Twins.
Aranda was in the lineup at first base and made his second start in five games since being recalled. So long as the Rays' infield remains healthy, it appears that Aranda will struggle to get consistent playing time. He's gone 2-for-10 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored since being recalled.
