Ramirez is not in the Rays' lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

It's the second time in the last three contests and third time over the last five games that Ramirez has been on the bench. Yandy Diaz will get to rest his legs a bit in the designated hitter spot, while Luke Raley will cover first base.

Belt went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Pirates.

Getting the start at first base in place of Vladimir Guerrero (wrist) and batting fifth, Belt put together his second straight multi-hit performance as he finally begins to look comfortable in a Blue Jays uniform. Over his last 10 games, the former Giant is batting .313 (10-for-32) with four doubles and a homer, although he also has 14 strikeouts during that stretch. If Guerrero's wrist continues to bother him, Belt figures to pick up more playing time in the short term, but at the very least he seems to be re-establishing himself as Toronto's top option at DH against right-handed pitching.

Reyes was designated for assignment by the Royals on Monday.

Reyes was optioned to Triple-A Omaha last week and now is off the 40-man roster in order to make room for trade acquisition James McArthur. He batted just .186/.231/.288 with a 36.9 percent strikeout rate during his time with the Royals and, while Reyes is still just 27, his big-league career looks to be at a crossroads.

Rooker went 0-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Royals.

Rooker reached after being hit by a pitch in the fourth. He would end up stealing second and would score in the frame. The 28-year-old was kept quiet otherwise but has been a fantasy darling so far this season, slashing .319/.434/.692 with 10 homers, 26 RBI, 17 runs and a 17:27 BB:K over 113 plate appearances. One small concern is that he's struck out multiple times in three straight games.

The White Sox placed Jimenez (appendix) on the 10-day injured list Sunday.

Jimenez underwent an emergency appendectomy in Cincinnati on Saturday, but since the White Sox didn't immediately have a player available to replace him on the 26-man active roster that day, the team waited until Sunday to officially move him to the IL. Catcher Carlos Perez will move up from Triple-A Charlotte to take the spot of Jimenez, who is expected to require 4-to-6 weeks of recovery time.

Turner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Turner looks to be getting a well-deserved veteran's day off after he had started at either first base or designated hitter in each of Boston's last 18 games. Masataka Yoshida will get a chance to rest his legs as Boston's DH rather than playing his usual spot in left field while Turner rests.

Jimenez (abdomen) underwent an appendectomy Saturday, which is expected to sideline him 4-to-6 weeks.

Jimenez went to the hospital Saturday with severe abdominal pain, which ultimately led to the removal of his appendix. The 26-year-old never seems to catch a break when it comes to his health, and he'll now be sidelined for at least a month while recovering from the procedure. Over the last three seasons prior to 2023, Jimenez only appeared in 192 games while dealing with an assortment of ailments. He'll likely officially be placed on the injured list Sunday.

Jimenez is at a local hospital in Cincinnati on Saturday after suffering from abdominal pain, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The pain apparently intensified Friday night, and Jimenez went to the hospital overnight. Manager Pedro Grifol said the team should get an update on Jimenez's status later Saturday, but the skipper did not offer an immediate timetable for the designated hitter's return to action.

Ramirez will sit Saturday against the Yankees, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Ramirez is off to an excellent start this season, hitting .321/.387/.607 with six homers in 24 games. His barrel rate sits at a career-high 9.1 percent. Despite that early success, Tampa Bay's crowded roster means he's hit the bench in two of the last three games and 11 times total in 34 contests this season. Randy Arozarena will rest his legs as the designated hitter Saturday, with Luke Raley taking Arozarena's usual spot in left field.

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-4 win over Seattle.

Alvarez's 408-foot long ball to center gave Houston a 3-0 lead in the third inning. The power hitter is now tied for third in the league with 30 RBI, and he now has hits in eight of his last nine games. The 25-year-old's current batting average (.263) is significantly below his mark from last season (.306), but Alvarez still has plenty of time to get hot and boost that number close to .300.
