Stanton will take part in outfield drills over the next few days to determine whether he feels comfortable enough to play there during the ALDS against Cleveland, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Stanton played 34 games in right field and four games in left during the 2022 campaign, but his last outfield start dates back to July 21 against the Astros. If he does feel like he can play outfield in the postseason, it would help the Yankees become more flexible with how they use the designated hitter spot.

Carpenter (foot) feels ready for the upcoming ALDS against Cleveland and will get another workout in Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

The timeline hasn't changed for Carpenter, who remains on track to return in time for the American League Divisional Series after suffering a fractured foot Aug. 8 against Seattle. Per Hoch, Carpenter has already been hitting and running the bases, and he's set for a few more at-bats and a workout at first base Sunday. The veteran slugger fully expects to be available for Game 1 on Tuesday.

Manager Aaron Boone said Thursday he expects Carpenter (foot) to be on the Yankees' roster for the start of the ALDS next week, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The 36-year-old was transferred to the 60-day injured list over the weekend but will apparently be ready to go for Game 1 of the ALDS on Tuesday. Carpenter had a resurgent campaign in limited chances for the Yankees and produced a .205/.412/.727 slash line with 15 home runs, 37 RBI and 28 runs in only 154 plate appearances.

Torrens went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.

Torrens put Seattle on top 4-3 with a homer off lefty starter Tyler Alexander with one out in the sixth inning. The catcher particularly struggled in road games during 2022, posting a .525 OPS over 84 plate appearances compared to a .638 OPS over 82 plate appearances at home.

Ohtani (15-9) allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out six across five innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Athletics.

The only baserunners Ohtani allowed came in the fifth inning, though that was enough for him to surrender a run and to take his ninth loss of the season. Otherwise, he was extremely impressive, racking up 13 swinging strikes on only 69 total pitches. Ohtani closed the season by allowing one or fewer earned runs in six of seven starts. Overall, he maintained a 2.33 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 219 strikeouts across 166 innings.

Martinez went 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the Rays.

Martinez launched a three-run home run off Josh Fleming in the bottom of the first inning before going deep for a solo shot in the fourth. The homers raised his season total to 16, four of which came in the final 14 games of the season. Martinez will finish the 2022 campaign with a .274 average, 16 home runs, 62 RBI and 76 runs over 533 at-bats in 139 games.

Choi went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's loss to the Red Sox.

Choi singled in the first inning before launching a two-run homer off Nick Pivetta in his next at-bat in the third frame. He later added another single and a walk in subsequent at-bats. The home run was the 31-year-old's 11th of the year and first since Sept. 13. Choi finished the year having produced at least one hit in four of his final six games, batting .421 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored over that stretch. The first baseman will end the 2022 regular season with a .233 average, 11 homers, 52 RBI and 36 runs scored over 356 at-bats in 113 games with the Rays.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said Wednesday that Winker (neck) has been placed on the 10-day injured list and is unlikely to return for the postseason, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Seattle made the decision to deactivate Winker after reviewing the results of the MRI he underwent earlier Wednesday. The 29-year-old is on the Mariners' books for 2023 after inking a two-year, $14.5 million deal in June, but he may be on a short leash for an everyday role after struggling in his first season in Seattle. Winker will finish the 2022 campaign with a .219/.344/.344 slash line to go with 14 home runs, 53 RBI and 51 runs in 136 games.

Stanton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Stanton is one of five Yankees regulars who will be sitting out Wednesday with little on the line in the regular-season finale. The 32-year-old slugger endured another injury-marred campaign in 2022 and wasn't as effective as usual when he was healthy enough to play. His .759 OPS is the lowest mark of his career by 56 points.

Cabrera is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Even though Cabrera was rested in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, he'll remain on the bench as the Tigers wrap up their season and their series in Seattle on Wednesday. Unless the Tigers turn to him for a pinch-hitting appearance, Cabrera will finish the campaign with a career-worst .622 OPS over his 433 plate appearances. The 39-year-old is due $32 million in 2023, the final season of the eight-year, $248 million megadeal he signed in March 2014.
