  • Cole Tucker 3B | LAA

Angels' Cole Tucker: Logs another steal

Tucker went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and a stolen base against Philadelphia in a loss Tuesday.

Tucker got his second straight start at DH and was one of only two Angels with multiple hits in the defeat. The veteran swiped a bag in the fifth inning, becoming the second player in team history to notch a stolen base in both of his first two games with the club. Tucker swiped as many as 47 bases in the minors (in 2017), but he hasn't recorded more than 11 thefts in a professional campaign since 2018.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | BAL

Red Sox's Garrett Cooper: Expected to be fine

Cooper is expected to be fine after exiting Tuesday's game versus the Giants following a hit-by-pitch on the right wrist, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

It's not clear whether Cooper required any imaging, but either way it sounds like he escaped with just a contusion. The Red Sox are reportedly closing in on a major-league contract with Dominic Smith, who could share time at first base with Cooper while Triston Casas (ribs) is out.

  • Mitch Garver DH | SEA

Mariners' Mitch Garver: Day off Wednesday

Garver is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Garver looks to be getting a routine day off for the series finale. With Garver on the bench, Cal Raleigh will serve as Seattle's designated hitter, while Seby Zavala steps in as the Mariners' starting catcher.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | BAL

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Receiving rest day

Jimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Jimenez's absence from the lineup looks to be a matter of getting some rest for the day game after a night game. He had started in 14 consecutive games since returning from the injured list in mid-April and slashed .255/.328/.436 with three home runs and a stolen base over that span. Robbie Grossman will fill in for Jimenez on Wednesday as Chicago's designated hitter.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Rays' Harold Ramirez: On bench again Wednesday

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After serving as the Rays' primary designated hitter for most of the season, Ramirez could be moving into a part-time role. He's on the bench for the third time in five games, and playing time could be even more difficult to come by once Jonathan Aranda (finger) is activated from the 10-day injured list, perhaps as soon as this weekend.

  • Blue Jays' Daniel Vogelbach: Getting rare start

Vogelbach will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup Wednesday against the Royals.

He's filling in for Justin Turner, who is getting a day off. The start is just the fifth of the season for Vogelbach, who is 2-for-18 at the dish so far for Toronto.

  • Justin Turner 1B | SEA

Blue Jays' Justin Turner: Getting breather Wednesday

Turner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Royals.

It's a routine maintenance day for Turner, who hit two home runs in the series opener Monday before going hitless Tuesday. Daniel Vogelbach will serve as the designated hitter Wednesday and also occupy the cleanup spot.

  • Guardians' Estevan Florial: Lifts game-tying homer

Florial went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 10-9 extra-inning loss to the Astros.

Florial's sixth-inning blast tied the game at 8-8. It was his third homer of the year and his first against a team other than the Yankees. Florial's playing time has been slipping recently, mostly as a byproduct of David Fry working his way into the lineup more frequently. The right-handed Fry, a natural catcher, will occasionally serve as the designated hitter or push one of the Guardians' regulars into that spot at Florial's expense. For the year, Florial is batting just .229 with an .827 OPS through 56 plate appearances.

  • Miguel Sano 3B | LAA

Angels' Miguel Sano: Remains out Tuesday

Sano (knee) isn't in the Angels' lineup Tuesday against the Phillies.

Knee inflammation will cause Sano to miss his fourth consecutive game, and the 30-year-old infielder could end up on the injured list if he's unable to return to the lineup soon. Cole Tucker will serve as the Angels' DH and bat seventh while Sano sits.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | BAL

Red Sox's Garrett Cooper: Dealing with wrist contusion

Cooper (wrist) suffered a right wrist contusion in Tuesday's matchup with the Giants, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Cooper was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the fifth inning, forcing him to be removed from his Red Sox debut early. The 33-year-old is likely set to undergo some additional imaging on his wrist, which will provide a better understanding of his status moving forward. In the meantime, Bobby Dalbec replaced Cooper at first base and would see an extended role in his absence.
