Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a homer, a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Monday's 11-1 win over Oakland.

Alvarez opened the game's scoring with a solo blast in the second inning, his 11th of the season. He later doubled in a run as part of a massive seven-run third for the Astros. The rookie slugger has racked up 35 RBI alongside his 1.130 OPS over his first 133 plate appearances.

Buxton (concussion) is not in Monday's lineup against the Yankees.

He practiced Sunday, but the Twins have been pretty quiet regarding when he could come off the 7-day injured list, so he should be considered day-to-day for now. Max Kepler starts in center field while Marwin Gonzalez starts in right.

Vogelbach (shoulder) is starting at DH and hitting cleanup Monday against the Rangers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Vogelbach is back in action after missing Sunday's game due to a sore left shoulder. The 26-year-old slugger, who is slashing .179/.289/.410 with three home runs and a 35.6 percent strikeout rate through 12 games this month, will face righty Adrian Sampson in Monday's series opener.

Jimenez (elbow) said he is pain-free Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Jimenez was placed on the injured list last week with a right ulnar nerve contusion, but the 22-year-old is already feeling better. The original hope was that Jimenez would be able to return before the end of the month, though he still hasn't resumed swinging, leaving him without a concrete timetable for his return.

Choi is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays with hold out three of their lefty-hitting lineup mainstays (Choi, Nate Lowe and Joey Wendle) with Boston bringing a southpaw (Eduardo Rodriguez) to the hill for the series opener. Choi may not be in store for much action during the three-game series with two more lefties (Chris Sale and David Price) tentatively lined up to start Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, for the Red Sox.

Brantley went 3-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Rangers.

After a stretch during which Brantley homered just twice in 51 games, he's gone yard three times in the last four. The outfielder may be enjoying his finest season at age 32, posting career highs in average (.332), on-base percentage (.391) and slugging (.530).

Vogelbach, who sat out Sunday's series finale against the Angels in what was termed a regularly scheduled day off, is nevertheless nursing a sore left shoulder, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Vogelbach got the series off to a rousing start Friday with a pair of three-run home runs. However, he went from feast to famine Saturday while striking out in all four plate appearances, a downturn that may have been at least partly influenced by his shoulder issue. Manager Scott Servais confirmed the slugger would have sat Sunday anyhow with southpaw Dillon Peters on the mound, but it remains to be seen if Vogelbach will be in the starting nine Monday for the start of a three-game series against the Rangers.

Buxton (concussion) took batting practice, ran the bases and completed outfield drills Sunday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Buxton could have been activated Sunday, but the Twins held him out another day. He could be activated before Monday's game against the Yankees, but it's hard to get a true read on his progress.

Soler went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 5-4 loss to Cleveland.

Soler clubbed a solo shot over the fence in right center during the third inning, but it wasn't enough to lift his team to victory. The 27-year-old continues to put on a display of power, slugging four home runs over his last 10 contests.

Vogelbach is not in Sunday's lineup against the Angels.

With the Mariners facing a southpaw (Dillon Peters), Vogelbach will open the contest on the bench. Omar Narvaez will start at designated hitter while Tom Murphy gets the start behind the dish. Vogelbach is hitting .179 with 16 strikeouts in 12 games this month.
