Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Constant presence on basepaths
Canha, who went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, two stolen bases and a run in a win over the Brewers on Thursday, currently sports career bests in on-base percentage (.382) and slugging percentage (.530).
Canha's line Thursday serves as a fitting representation of the well-balanced contributions he's capable of bringing to the table. The veteran's .254 average isn't noteworthy, although it too equals a high-water mark for Canha. However, the other aforementioned components of his slash line, along with his career-high 14.1 percent walk rate and .276 ISO, have been of benefit to fantasy managers. Canha is also equaling his career bests in home runs (17) and strikeout rate (19.8 percent), so it's been a banner year all the way around for the 30-year-old.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Swats pair of doubles
Alvarez went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Indians.
With the return of Carlos Correa to the roster, the Astros now have their most dangerous offensive lineup. Alvarez has maintained his spot in the middle of the order, batting fifth with Correa providing support behind him in the six hole.

AJ Reed DH | HOU
White Sox's AJ Reed: Sent back to minors
Reed was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
This move comes after Reed went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts during Thursday's loss to the Mets, lowering his season average to an unsightly .136. The White Sox are expected to announce a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's series opener in Philadelphia.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Pair of two-baggers in win
Choi went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and two runs in a win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.
Choi did an impressive job setting the table out of the leadoff spot, generating his second straight multi-hit effort. The 28-year-old wrapped up July putting solid wood on the ball, as he also smacked a two-run home run against the Blue Jays last Sunday as part of a three-hit day.

Ryan Goins DH | KC
White Sox's Ryan Goins: Starts at third base
Goins started at third base in place of the injured Yoan Moncada (hamstring) on Wednesday and went 2-for-4 with a walk and a double in a 4-2 loss to the Mets.
The White Sox dropped Moncada onto the injured list, so there will be a window of opportunity for Goins, who remains the team's primary utility infielder after Jose Rondon was designated for assignment and eventually claimed by Baltimore. Goins has hit with regularity since joining the White Sox, hitting safely in six of his nine starts and going 12-for-37 (.324) with two home runs and four doubles overall.
-
J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Blasts 23rd homer
Martinez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to the Rays.
That's now three blasts in five games for Martinez and seven multi-hit performances in his last 11 games. The 31-year-old is slashing a blistering .396/.442/.771 over the latter stretch and has 23 homers and 63 RBI through 98 contests overall.

Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Indians' Franmil Reyes: Not yet starting
Reyes is not in the starting lineup Wednesday against the Astros.
Reyes will get at least a day to adjust to his new surroundings after being acquired in a trade from the Padres on Tuesday. He should feature regularly as the designated hitter once he's ready to go. Jake Bauers will fill the position for Wednesday's game.
-
Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Day off Wednesday
Ohtani is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers.
Ohtani sits the day after posting three hits and a steal. Mike Trout will rest his legs as the designated hitter Wednesday.
-
Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Day off Wednesday
Cabrera is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Angels, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Cabrera is riding a four-game hitting streak after a stretch in which he went 2-for-35 at the plate over nine games. Nick Castellanos will be the designated hitter (unless he gets traded before the game begins), with Brandon Dixon starting in right field.
