Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Multi-hit effort in win
Vogelbach went 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a double, a walk and two runs in a win over the Rangers on Tuesday.
Vogelbach has now hit safely in five of his last six games, a welcome turnaround from a poor start to the month. The 26-year-old has five extra-base hits (three doubles, two home runs) during that span, but he's still hitting a middling .209 overall during July.

Ryan Goins DH | KC
White Sox's Ryan Goins: Fills in for Moncada
Goins entered Tuesday's game after Yoan Moncada (hamstring) departed and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in a 5-2 loss to the Mets.
Moncada attempted to play through an injury that bothered him prior to the game. Goins, who had been getting regular starts at shortstop while Tim Anderson (ankle) was sidelined, should be the primary fill-in if Moncada misses any more playing time. Anderson returned to the lineup Tuesday, so shortstop is no longer a viable source of consistent playing time for Goins.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Racks up three hits, stolen base
Ohtani went 3-for-4 with a stolen base, a run scored and an RBI in a win against the Tigers on Tuesday.
Ohtani entered the game in a 2-for-20 cold spell but found a groove against Detroit, singling three times to notch his sixth game of three or more hits this season. In his second campaign in the majors, the Japanese phenom has slashed .292/.356/.521 while posting 15 homers, 43 RBI and nine stolen bases in 289 plate appearances.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Pops 10th homer
Buxton went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.
His third-inning blast off Zac Gallen opened the scoring on the night. Buxton has now gone 7-for-17 (.412) in five games since rejoining the Twins lineup, boosting his slash line on the year to .260/.313/.511 through 80 contests with 10 homers and 13 steals.

Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Indians' Franmil Reyes: Acquired by Cleveland
Reyes and Logan Allen were traded to the Indians from the Padres on Tuesday in a three-way trade that sends Trevor Bauer to the Reds, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Reyes was rumored to be receiving interest from the Rays on the trade market, but he'll instead be joining the Indians in the blockbuster deal. The 24-year-old has a .253/.312/.535 slash line with 27 home runs this season and will join a revamped outfield that also includes the likes of Yasiel Puig, who was acquired from the Reds. Minor-league outfielder Taylor Trammell joins San Diego in what is currently known as a three-team, five-player trade.
-
Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Still no progress
Stanton (knee) is still yet to resume baseball activities, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
Stanton has been out for over a month with a right knee injury. A variety of injuries have limited him to just nine games all season. His return timeline remains unclear.
-
AJ Reed DH | HOU
White Sox's AJ Reed: On bench Tuesday
Reed is not starting Tuesday against the Mets.
Reed sits for the second time in three games, following a stretch in which he started five straight. He's hit just .158/.214/.237 in 12 games for the White Sox this season and may not have a particularly long leash given that he's never proven himself at the big-league level.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Looking sharp since IL return
Buxton will start in center field and bat eighth Tuesday in Miami.
Buxton typically slots in at the bottom of the order, but he'll move up a spot in the lineup for the first time since April 10 with the Twins deploying the pitcher (Jake Odorizzi) as the No. 9 hitter in the National League park. The more noteworthy development is that Buxton is in the starting nine in center field for the fifth straight game, showing no ill effects of the concussion that sidelined him almost two weeks. In his first four games back in action, Buxton went 6-for-14 with four doubles, four runs and an RBI.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Drives in three against Angels
Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBI to help the Tigers to a 7-2 win over the Angels on Monday.
It was a throwback performance from the 36-year-old, who cranked a solo home run in the first inning off Jaime Barria and wound up knocking in three of his team's seven runs for the game. It was good to see him go yard, as the one-time superstar has endured a season-long power outage in 2019 that has seen him hit just six long balls and post a meager .373 slugging percentage.
