  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Takes seat Thursday

Miller isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Arizona, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Miller was in the lineup for each of the last six games but went just 1-for-18 with a double, two runs, three walks and seven strikeouts. Alec Bohm will start at first base and bat fifth.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Braves' Joc Pederson: Takes seat against southpaw

Pederson isn't starting Wednesday against the Marlins.

Pederson has started against some southpaws since he joined Atlanta, but he'll retreat to the bench with left-hander Jesus Luzardo starting for Miami on Wednesday. Guillermo Heredia will start in center field and bat eighth.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Homers in win

Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in Tuesday's 7-3 win over San Diego.

It's been a tough month for Blackmon, but he put in a classic Chuck Nazty performance on Tuesday night, smacking a two-run homer and picking up another RBI on a groundout. Even with this latest production, the numbers for August don't look great for the 35-year-old. Since the calendar flipped, he's batting just .224 with three home runs and eight RBI.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Starting Tuesday after all

Dickerson was added to Tuesday's starting lineup against the Mets after Kris Bryant was scratched because of hamstring tightness, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Dickerson was initially slated to sit, but he'll instead start in left field. If Bryant is forced to miss time beyond Tuesday, Dickerson would figure to be one of the top beneficiaries from a playing time standpoint.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: On bench again Tuesday

Dickerson is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mets, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The 31-year-old sat on the bench three of the previous four games with the Giants facing left-handed starters, but he's now on the bench again Monday despite righty Marcus Stroman pitching for New York. Dickerson has a 1.167 OPS with three homers, two doubles, 10 RBI and eight runs through 13 games in August, but he's clearly being squeezed for playing time with the Giants' lineup back up to full strength. LaMonte Wade will start in right field and bat leadoff while Kris Bryant shifts to left.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Gets rest Tuesday

Turner is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Pirates, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Turner missed four games last week with a groin injury, so the Dodgers will look to get the veteran third baseman off his feet Tuesday. Gavin Lux (hamstring), who was activated from the injured list Tuesday, will start at the hot corner and bat eighth.

  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Dealing with foot issue

Vogelbach (hamstring) is battling a foot injury, which explains why his rehab assignment ended Sunday but didn't result in him being activated from the injured list, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Vogelbach had been rehabbing since late July, as the Brewers have no urgent need to activate him given that Rowdy Tellez and Eduardo Escobar were both acquired while he was out. The exact nature of his foot issue is not yet clear, so it's uncertain when he'll be ready to return.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Slugs homer No. 16

Belt went 1-for-2 with a solo home run as the Giants defeated the Mets, 7-5 on Monday.

Belt batted for reliever Tony Watson and ignited a three-run inning that provided valuable insurance with his 422-foot bomb to center. It was the veteran first baseman's fifth home run in 10 games this month since returning from injury, though he has just two additional hits that haven't left the yard.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Sitting versus southpaw

Dickerson is not in the lineup Monday against the Mets, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Dickerson will once again head to the bench with left-hander Rich Hill on the mound for New York. Darin Ruf will start in left field Monday for San Francisco.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Sits against southpaw

Belt will sit against lefty Rich Hill and the Mets on Monday, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Belt has started against every righty while sitting against every lefty since his return from the injured list in early August. Wilmer Flores will be the first baseman in his absence.
