Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Goes through workout
Jimenez (foot) worked out on the field Monday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Jimenez missed the final three games of the season with a mild right foot sprain. His status for the start of the postseason, which begins for the White Sox on Tuesday against the Athletics, remains up in the air, though he reportedly looked good during Monday's workout.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Works out on field
Buxton (head) shagged flyballs during Monday's batting practice, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Buxton left Friday's game against the Reds after getting hit in the head by a pitch and was reportedly experiencing mild concussion symptoms. He's yet to be officially cleared for the start of the postseason.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Crushes 18th homer
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the Braves' 9-1 loss to the Red Sox on Sunday.
He's probably not going to be an NL MVP finalist alongside his teammate, Freddie Freeman, but Ozuna was one of the top offensive contributors in all of baseball during the shortened 2020 regular season. Ozuna finishes with a .338/.431/.636 batting line, 18 home runs, 56 RBI and 38 runs scored in 267 plate appearances.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Homers in season finale
Martinez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Braves.
Martinez ends his trying 2020 season with a .213/.291/.389 batting line, seven homers, 27 RBI, 22 runs scored and one stolen base in 237 plate appearances. To nobody's surprise, Martinez is saying he's unlikely to opt out of his contract with the Red Sox this winter, as Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reported Friday.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Drives in four runs
Canha went 2-for-4 with a double, walk and four RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Mariners.
Canha's RBI groundout tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first. The outfielder later belted a two-run double to extend Oakland's lead to 5-2 in the seventh. He drove in one more run with a bases-loaded walk an inning later. Canha concludes the regular season with five homers and 33 RBI to go along with a .249 batting average and .785 OPS.

Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Indians' Franmil Reyes: Slugs ninth homer
Reyes went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a sacrifice fly in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Pirates.
Reyes brought Cleveland within a run with his sixth-inning blast. He then added an insurance run by knocking Carlos Santana in with the sacrifice fly in the seventh. Reyes cooled off in September but still finished the year with a strong .275/.344/.450 slash line, nine homers, 34 RBI and 27 runs scored in 59 contests.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Dealing with injury
Vogelbach appeared to suffer a hamstring injury during Sunday's loss to the Cardinals but is expected to be ready for the postseason, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Vogelbach was limping after grounding out in the ninth inning Sunday, but manager Craig Counsell said after the game that he's hopeful that he'll be ready for the NL Wild Card Series against the Dodgers, which is scheduled to begin Wednesday. Vogelbach's status heading into the series is worth monitoring, but he should be the team's top option as the designated hitter if he's available.

Luis Torrens C | NYM
Mariners' Luis Torrens: Out with back spasms
Torrens was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with back spasms.
Torrens has been withheld from the lineup in three of the past four games, and the back spasms could help explain his absence. Joe Hudson was promoted from the alternate site for catching depth.
-
Brad Miller DH | SD
Cardinals' Brad Miller: Sitting out vs. lefty
Miller is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Miller and fellow lefty batter Matt Carpenter will take a seat Sunday, as Cardinals manager Mike Shildt goes with a lineup consisting of eight right-handed or switch-hitting players to counter southpaw Brett Anderson. Tyler O'Neill will serve as St. Louis' designated hitter in Miller's stead.
-
Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Heads to bench
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Carpenter's absence from the lineup in a must-win game for the Cardinals illustrates just how far his stock has fallen since he slugged a career-high 36 home runs two seasons ago. His OPS for the abbreviated 2020 campaign sits at .639, 258 points below his mark from 2018. Tommy Edman will draw the start at third base Sunday over Carpenter, who could be relegated to a bench role should St. Louis punch its ticket to the postseason.
