Torrens was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with back spasms.

Torrens has been withheld from the lineup in three of the past four games, and the back spasms could help explain his absence. Joe Hudson was promoted from the alternate site for catching depth.

Miller is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Tommy Edman will draw the start at third base Sunday over Carpenter, who could be relegated to a bench role should St. Louis punch its ticket to the postseason.

Torrens is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics, Lauren Smith of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Torrens has two hits in his past 16 at-bats and is on the bench for the third time in the past four games. Joseph Odom receives the start behind the plate in the season finale.

Buxton (concussion symptoms) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old was hit in the head by a pitch Friday and will miss his second straight game while experiencing mild concussion symptoms. It remains to be seen if Buxton will be cleared for the playoffs in the next couple days. Jake Cave receives the start in center field for the season finale.

Stanton is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

The 30-year-old started the past four games but will receive the day off for the season finale. Barring an appearance off the bench, Stanton closes the 2020 campaign with a .250/.387/.500 slash line, four homers, seven doubles, 12 runs and 11 RBI in 23 games. Luke Voit will serve as the designated hitter while DJ LeMahieu shifts to first base Sunday.

Winker is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Winker seemed to be breaking out of his platoon role earlier this season, but he's been struggling in a major way and this marks his third consecutive absence against a lefty. Joey Votto will DH against Rich Hill while Aristides Aquino, Nick Senzel and Nick Castellanos play the outfield from left to right.

Jimenez (foot) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

Manager Rick Renteria said Jimenez was unlikely to play this weekend after suffering the mild right foot sprain Thursday, and he's been held out of the lineup all three games, as expected. Assuming he won't appear off the bench, the 23-year-old finishes 2020 with a .296/.332/.559 slash line, 14 homers, 26 runs and 41 RBI in 55 games. According to Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald, Renteria indicated Jimenez looks "much better" Sunday and is cautiously optimistic he'll be ready for the start of the playoffs Tuesday.

Cabrera is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera receives the day off in what could be the final game of the season, but he'll be good to go should Monday's doubleheader against the Cardinals be deemed necessary. Christin Stewart will serve as the designated hitter while Jorge Bonifacio starts in left field Sunday.

McCutchen went 4-for-5 with a home run, an RBI and three runs scored Saturday against the Rays but the Phillies still lost, 4-3.

McCutchen led the way offensively for the Phillies, as he put up a four-hit night that was highlighted by a fifth-inning solo home run to left. The 33-year-old is hitting .258/.329/.441 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI in 56 games, as he's had a nice bounceback season after suffering a torn ACL in June of 2019.
