  • Mariners' Daniel Vogelbach: Sitting against lefty

Vogelbach is not in Sunday's lineup against the Rays, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

He heads to the bench with a lefty (Ryan Yarbrough) on the hill for the opposition. Austin Nola will start at first base and hit fifth.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Productive day at plate

Ozuna went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in a win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Ozuna provided some rare pop for the Cardinals on Saturday, lacing his first double since back on June 26, prior to his extended stay on the injured list with finger fractures. The veteran slugger has mostly scuffled at the plate in the seven games since his return, but he does now have an extra-base hit in three straight games after having homered in each of the two contests prior to Saturday.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Out against lefty

Choi is not in Sunday's lineup against the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays are going with a righty-heavy lineup with lefty Wade LeBlanc expected to serve as Seattle's primary pitcher. Travis d'Arnaud is starting at first base and leading off.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Reds' Jesse Winker: Sits against southpaw

Winker is not in Sunday's lineup against the Cubs.

He will take a seat against a lefty (Jon Lester) in the final game of this series. Phillip Ervin will start in left field and hit sixth.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

    Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Sitting Sunday

Carpenter is not in Sunday's lineup against the Pirates.

He recently returned from a minor foot injury. Carpenter is hitting .235 with zero home runs in 10 games since the All-Star break. Yairo Munoz will start at third base and hit sixth.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Transferred to 60-day IL

Stanton (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

This ensures that Stanton will not come off the injured list until Aug. 25, at the earliest. He resumed light baseball activity earlier this week but remains without a timetable to return.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Launches three homers

Alvarez went 3-for-5 with three home runs, four runs scored, seven RBI and a walk in Saturday's 23-2 win over the Orioles.

The Astros flexed their offensive muscles Saturday and no one showcased himself more than Alvarez, who now has 17 homers through his first 45 career games. The 22-year-old rookie has a .353/.432/.743 slash line with 30 runs scored and 51 RBI in only 192 plate appearances.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Set for rehab assignment

Dickerson (oblique) is expected to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Dickerson won't return from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Sunday, but it appears he won't be sidelined too much beyond the minimum. The 29-year-old landed on the shelf with the right oblique strain Aug. 1, so he should only require a couple games in the minors to get back up to speed.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Out again Saturday

Choi is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi will sit for the second straight game since left-hander Tommy Milone is set to serve as the primary pitcher for Seattle. Travis d'Arnaud will start at first base while Jesus Aguilar will serve as the designated hitter.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Out again against southpaw

Pederson isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Pederson will head to the bench for a second straight day with another lefty slated to take the hill for Arizona. Cody Bellinger is set to man right field and will bat cleanup in Pederson's stead.
