Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Marlins' Harold Ramirez: Cranks solo homer
Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the White Sox.
Ramirez took Dylan Covey deep in the fifth inning to to record his fifth home run of the season. He's been mired in a slump of late, recording just four hits and whiffing six times in his last 20 at-bats. Still, he's earned at-bats atop the Marlins' lineup, giving him some decent upside to score runs. He's now hitting .279/.316/.402 across 231 plate appearances for the campaign.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Sitting at NL park
Ohtani is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game on the road against the Dodgers, Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Ohtani figures to be limited to a bench role for the two-game set versus the Dodgers, similar to the Angels' previous series at a National League park this season. Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Could play outfield in St. Louis
Alvarez could make a start in left field at some point during the weekend series in St. Louis, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.
Alvarez has played the field occasionally, but 25 of his 30 big-league starts thus far have come as a designated hitter. He was stuck on the bench for both of the Astros' games in Colorado in early July, but the Cardinals' outfield isn't nearly as large as the Rockies' is, so he may not face the same fate during this interleague series.

Alex Dickerson DH | ATL
Giants' Alex Dickerson: Ready to roll
Dickerson (oblique) is starting in left field and batting fourth Tuesday against the Cubs.
Dickerson was held out of Monday's matchup due to tightness in his right oblique, but he'll be right back in the starting nine for the second game of the series. He's hitting .522 with a home run and six RBI over his last seven contests.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Has wisdom teeth removed
Buxton (concussion) had his wisdom teeth removed Tuesday and his return is expected to be delayed as a result, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
Buxton appeared to be nearing a return from the 7-day injured list after practicing Sunday, but he'll remain on the shelf for likely the next few days while on the mend from a dental procedure. The Twins still haven't revealed a concrete timetable for the outfielder's return, though they believe Buxton will be back soon.

Ryan Goins DH | KC
White Sox's Ryan Goins: Hits second home run
Goins went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's win over the Marlins.
Goins was back in the starting lineup with a right-hander on the mound and homered for the second time since he was brought up to the majors. He and Jose Rondon are splitting time at shortstop, thought not in a true platoon, and that figures to be the case until early August. Injured shortstop Tim Anderson (ankle) ran the bases Monday for the first time since suffering a high-ankle sprain June 25 in Boston. Anderson told Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times he feels good and might return "in a week or two."

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Rehab assignment set
Carpenter (foot) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday, Jake Crouse of MLB.com reports.
A late-weekend report had Carpenter's rehab assignment starting "sooner rather than later" according to manager Mike Shildt, and that was corroborated with Monday's announcement. Carpenter is expected to play three games with the Redbirds before potentially returning to the Cardinals if all goes off without a hitch. However, with Tommy Edman and Yairo Munoz both playing well at third base in Carpenter's absence, it remains to be seen whether the veteran will immediately resume an everyday role.

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Mashes 20th homer
Martinez went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Monday's 9-4 win over the Rays.
