Ohtani was hit on the right hand in his presumably final at-bat Monday night against the Twins.

To add insult to injury, he struck out on the pitch, as he was ruled to be swinging on the play. He was in a lot of pain, getting looked at right on the field.

Jimenez went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Monday's 3-0 loss to Houston.

The 22-year-old rookie returned from the injured list Monday, suiting up for the first time since April 26. Jimenez dropped his season average to .229 across 83 at-bats after the hitless day. He has just five extra-base hits and a .642 OPS.

Vogelbach went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Monday's 10-9 loss to the Rangers.

He entered the game in the sixth inning in place of Ryon Healy (back) and was at the center of the M's attempted rally from a 7-2 deficit, singling and scoring on Tim Beckham's grand slam in the eighth then sending a rocket to right field in the ninth for his 14th homer of the year. Vogelbach is now slashing .270/.400/.659 through 41 games, and if Healy's back strain proves to be serious, it would create a little less competition for playing time at first base and DH for the 26-year-old.

Stanton (shoulder) went 1-for-3 with a home run and two strikeouts in his rehab appearance for High-A Tampa on Monday, Conor Foley of The Times-Tribune reports.

Making his first rehab start, Stanton homered in his second at-bat for Tampa before getting pulled from the contest in the seventh inning. It was a good first step for the veteran slugger, who will likely make more rehab appearances in the minors this week and hopefully be able to make a return to the big club before the start of June.

Vogelbach will sit against southpaw Mike Minor and the Rangers on Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Vogelbach hasn't been strictly platooned, but he's only started against four of the 14 lefties who have faced the Mariners this season. Edwin Encarnacion serves as the designated hitter Monday, with Ryon Healy sliding to first base and Tim Beckham starting at third.

General manager Brodie Van Wagenen said Cespedes (heel) suffered multiple right ankle fractures over the weekend, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

The accident apparently happened at Cespedes' ranch in Port St. Lucie on Saturday. According to Tim Healey of Newsday, the veteran outfielder is currently in New York being further evaluated, and the Mets don't know what this could mean for Cespedes in 2019 and beyond. Cespedes is already on the 60-day injured list rehabbing from heel surgeries he underwent in August and October.

Jimenez (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list as expected Monday.

Jimenez hit a modest .241/.294/.380 in 21 games prior to landing on the injured list, and the White Sox will surely be expecting more following his nearly month-long absence. He looked fine on his rehab stint, hitting .318 in five games. Nicky Delmonico was optioned in a corresponding move.

Vogelbach went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs in a win over the Twins on Sunday.

Vogelbach's fifth-inning solo shot snapped a 3-3 tie and gave the Mariners a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way. The 26-year-old slugger has been scuffling at the plate in May after hitting .328 in April, but half of his 10 hits during the current month have left the yard, with four of those homers coming within the last five games. Vogelbach has also hit safely in five straight overall, which could certainly be a sign he's starting to heat back up.

Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk in an extra-inning loss to the Rangers on Sunday.

Ozuna generated his first multi-hit effort since May 10 in the narrow loss, which also included his seventh extra-base hit of the month. Ozuna has continued to be a solid RBI producer during May, but he's having a tough month at the plate overall. Sunday's solid production only brought his average to .194 since the calendar flipped, and he's already just three strikeouts short of the 20 he totaled in all of April.

Stanton (shoulder) reported to High-A Tampa on Monday to begin a rehab assignment.

As anticipated, the Yankees cleared Stanton to move to the final phase of his recovery from the shoulder injury he incurred while rehabbing the strained biceps that first forced him to the injured list April 1. Stanton checked out fine while facing live pitching over the weekend and will now test out his health by taking swings in a non-controlled setting. He'll presumably work as a designated hitter for Tampa first before seeing action in the outfield, but the Yankees haven't formally outlined his rehab schedule just yet. In any case, Stanton would seem poised to return to the Yankees before the end of the month if he avoids any further setbacks.
