Ohtani is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Ohtani is scheduled to pitch Wednesday, so he'll take his usual seat on the bench for Tuesday's contest. With the 23-year-old situated on the bench, Albert Pujols will serve as the team's DH while Luis Valbuena will pick up a start at first base. Ohtani is hitting .291/.376/.553 through 117 plate appearances this season while also maintaining a 3.35 ERA and 11.6 K/9 across 40.1 innings (seven starts).

Lewis went 4-for-5 with five RBI from a three-run home run and a two-run shot and scored three runs overall in High-A Modesto's win over Stockton on Monday.

The promising prospect's four total hits were a career high, while both his home run and RBI total matched career bests. Lewis is starting to hit his stride after missing more than the first month of the season with a knee injury, and factoring in Monday's production, he's now slashing .302/.327/.509 across 55 plate appearances.

Pederson went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 5-4 win over the Phillies.

Pederson has been relegated to a pseudo-fourth outfielder role despite center field opening up following Chris Taylor's move to shortstop to fill in for Corey Seager (elbow). Instead, Cody Bellinger has been seeing the majority of starts in center with Max Muncy getting starts at first against righties. The latter has performed adequately in the role, so Pederson will have to improve on his .248/.343/.397 slash line if he wants to play himself into a regular role.

Reyes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-2 loss to the Marlins.

Reyes has struggled to the tune of a .176/.222/.353 slash line in a semi-regular role since being called up May 14. On a positive note, the slugging rookie has hit two homers and taken his first two walks over his last five contests. With Franchy Cordero (forearm) hitting the disabled list and Wil Myers (oblique) still not back from his DL stint, there is an opportunity for the 22-year-old to prove he is ready for the majors. He will have to fend off the recently activated Hunter Renfroe for at-bats, but the latter's struggles against righties in his young career could lead to a platoon situation in the interim. Being on the strong side of a platoon would be the best-case scenario for Reyes, otherwise a four-man outfield rotation between he, Renfroe, Travis Jankowski and Manuel Margot could ensue.

Martinez went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo homer and an additional RBI in Monday's win over the Blue Jays.

Martinez put the Red Sox on the board in the first inning with a fielder's choice before adding to the lead with his solo shot off Aaron Sanchez in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old is now hitting an impressive .320/.379/.650 with 17 homers -- tied with teammate Mookie Betts (side) for second most in the league behind Mike Trout -- and 44 RBI across 51 games this season.

Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Monday's loss to the Brewers.

Carpenter cut the Brewers' lead to 4-3 with his solo shot -- his sixth of the season -- off Brent Suter in the fifth inning, though it ultimately wasn't enough to help the Cardinals take the series opener. He also laid down a bunt single in the third inning. Carpenter has now collected multiple hits in three straight games and is hitting .291/.364/.582 across 22 games this month, raising his average from .170 to .221 over that stretch.

Cabrera (hamstring) did some agility drills and ran the bases Monday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Cabrera tested his balky hamstring by running from home to first, first to third and third to home Monday. Manager Ron Gardenhire indicated afterwards that Cabrera could return as early as Tuesday if his hamstring checks out OK following Monday's workout, though he noted that the Tigers won't bring him back from the disabled list until he's healthy enough to play nine innings. "We'll see how he comes out after today and if he says he's ready, then we'll put him in the lineup," Gardenhire said. "As far as being in baseball shape, I don't think we're ever going to be perfect with him. We still can't put him out there if he can't make it through nine innings standing on his feet."

Miller was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Athletics with a facial contusion, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Per Topkin, Miller was hit in his left eye after a ball ricocheted off the screen during drills in the batting cage prior to Monday's game. Fortunately, he won't require stitches, so he should be considered day-to-day. C.J. Cron will start at first base in Miller's stead, with Christian Arroyo entering the lineup as DH.

Ozuna was dropped to fifth in the order Monday against the Brewers, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

He had been hitting cleanup all season, and while he has been a disappointment on the whole, this move comes at an odd time, as Ozuna is 10-for-18 (.556 average) over his last five games. Jedd Gyorko is starting at second base and hitting cleanup against lefty Brent Suter.

Miller went 2-for-5 with three RBI from a two-run double and a solo home run while scoring twice overall in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.

Miller led off for the third straight game following the trade of Denard Span to the Mariners and made plenty of noise out of the top of the order. The infielder had been mired in a 3-for-17 slump that encompassed the previous six games, with Sunday's production representing his first multi-hit effort since May 18. Miller now has three of his five homers on the season during May, and his current average (.246) and slugging percentage (.425) both represent significant improvements over his respective .201 and .337 figures from last season.
