Buxton appeared to tweak his leg while running the bases in Sunday's game against the White Sox. He was removed from the contest in the top of the third inning.

After walking during his lone plate appearance in the second inning, Buxton easily stole second base, but not before injuring himself in the process. Though he was initially able to stay in the game, he was clearly hobbled as he ran to third base on a ground ball and was replaced at the top half of the next inning by Eddie Rosario. The Twins should have a formal diagnosis of Buxton's condition after the game.

Martinez (elbow) is expected to be activated from the disabled list before the Tigers' homestand concludes Aug. 7, Matthew Mowery of The Oakland Press reports. "[Martinez is] getting close. He's going to DH again [Saturday]," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. Like I said, it wouldn't be a shock to me if we saw him before the end of this homestand. I'd actually be more surprised if we didn't see him before the end of the homestand."

Martinez's elbow still presents pain for him while throwing, so he has yet to see any time in the outfield during his rehab stint with Triple-A Toledo. The Tigers utilize Victor Martinez as a full-time DH, so J.D. Martinez may need to prove that he can defend his position capably before the team activates him. In any event, Martinez's return seems forthcoming, so he's worth stashing in just about any format if he was dropped after suffering the injury back in mid-June.

Pederson went 1-for-4 with a solo shot in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the D'Backs.

Pederson hit his 15th home run, and second in as many nights, in a fairly meaningless situation with his team down to their last out and trailing by three runs with nobody on base in the final frame. The 24-year-old center fielder has scored a run in six straight games while going 8-for-20 (.400) with two homers, six RBI and six runs during that stretch.

Dickerson (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Reds.

San Diego will continue to be careful with Dickerson and have him sit out for the second day in a row. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune's Dennis Lin, manager Andy Green indicated that Dickerson is "feeling much better," but the outfielder is still expected to miss a couple more games. Dickerson's absence could open up extra at-bats for Alexi Amarista in left field in the short term.

Cespedes (quad) may be a candidate for the disabled list, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.

Cespedes was held out of Sunday's lineup following an early exit Saturday, but may be a pinch-hit candidate in an emergency. It sounds like batting isn't overly problematic for Cespedes, as manager Terry Collins is already looking ahead to Wednesday, when the Mets will begin a stretch of five games in a row in AL ballparks. When that begins, the team can use Cespedes in the DH spot in hopes of him not overly exerting his ailing quadriceps muscle. In the meantime, the team will keep a close eye on the slugger, and if something seems off, the disabled list -- a possibility Collins had previously been dismissive of -- could be on the table.

Ozuna slammed a two-run home run and scored twice in Saturday's 11-0 win over the Cardinals.

After struggling for the majority of July, Ozuna is now 7-for-17 with four extra-base hits over his last four games. He's homered in back-to-back contests to bring his season total up to 19 and is working a robust .298/.351/.520 triple slash over 379 at-bats this year.

Cespedes is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rockies.

Cespedes returned to the Mets' lineup Friday, but was removed early Saturday due to was described as precautionary reasons. It's possible his sore quad is flaring up again, as this will mark his seventh game missed since originally sustaining the strain. In his stead, Michael Conforto will get the call in left field, while James Loney bats third in the batting order. Consider Cespedes day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener against the Yankees.

Miller went 2-for-4 with a solo homer in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Yankees.

The 26-year-old shortstop got the Rays' scoring started with a 423-foot solo shot to center in the first. Miller's homer totals have increased with each subsequent month this season and his 16 round-trippers on the season are easily a career high. He also has three straight two-hit efforts and a four-game hitting streak overall.

Belt went 1-for-1 with three walks and a run in Saturday's 5-3 victory over the Nationals.

The slugging first baseman has displayed some excellent plate discipline over the last week, drawing eight walks over the last five games while only whiffing twice. Belt has only homered once since June 20, however, and is hitting just .222 in July. While the current month has easily been his poorest of the season, Belt has a chance to quickly turn his fortunes at the plate around if he continues to exhibit the same patient eye of recent contests.

Blackmon went 2-for-4 with two doubles and scored twice in Saturday's victory over the Mets.

The center fielder followed up Friday's four-hit performance with another impressive game Saturday, notching his 20th and 21st doubles of the season. Last year, Blackmon hit a career-high 31 two-baggers and is now on pace to outperform that number in 2016. He's also on track to challenge last season's career-high 93 runs scored. Setting new personal records this season would be especially impressive considering he lost time to a stint on the DL back in April.
