Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna went 2 for 5 with a solo home run in his team's 4-3 win over the Rangers Tuesday.

Ozuna tied the game up at 1-1 with his fourth-inning blast, which was his first home run since July 27. He has hit .257/.312/.428 with 17 home runs and 63 RBI in 444 at-bats.

The Pirates activated outfielder Andrew McCutchen from the disabled list Tuesday, as he has recovered from a fractured rib.

McCutchen has been out since Aug. 3, but has been able to hit and run in recent days. It is not clear whether he is expected to need extra time off moving forward as he manages the fracture, but he is in the starting lineup, batting third Tuesday against the Braves. 

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Monday he is optimistic outfielder Andrew McCutchen, who is on the disabled list due to a fractured rib, can "rejoin" the active roster Tuesday against the Braves, according to MLB.com. Tuesday is the first day McCutchen is eligible to come off the disabled list.

Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton parked his 32nd home run during a 10-3 win Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He finished 2 for 4 with four RBI, two runs and one walk.

Stanton didn't waste any time getting the Marlins an early lead, as he parked a three-run homer off Josh Collmenter with no outs in the first inning. Stanton added another RBI on a single off Randall Delgado in the seventh inning.

Stanton has homered nine times in his last 18 games. He is batting .306 with a .429 on-base percentage, .758 slugging percentage, 1.187 OPS, one double, 12 runs, 14 walks and 17 RBI in that span.

Twins rookie first baseman/DH Kennys Vargas doubled, homered and drove in three runs during a 12-6 loss Sunday against the Royals. He finished 3 for 4 with two runs.

Vargas gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single off Jeremy Guthrie. He came back in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 9-4 with a two-run homer off Guthrie.

Vargas has hit safely in all but three of 15 games since his promotion from the minors. He is batting .317 with three home runs, two doubles and 15 RBI.

Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter doubled, homered and drove in three runs during a 7-6 win Sunday against the Padres. He also finished with three hits and two runs.

Carpenter led off the bottom of the second inning with a home run off Odraismer Despaigne to put St. Louis ahead 5-0. He then added a two-RBI double in the sixth inning, which gave St. Louis a 7-4 lead.

He is batting .271 with one triple, one home run, five doubles, 10 RBI, 11 runs, nine walks and one stolen base in 16 August games.

Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti told MLB Network Radio Sunday prospects Joc Pederson and Alex Guerrero are expected to be promoted to the majors when rosters expand Sept. 1.

Pederson is considered the 18th-best prospect by MLB.com and Baseball America. 

"You'll probably see them on Sept 1st," Colletti said. "If today was Sept. 1, I'd be inclined to bring them both [up]."

Indians outfielder Michael Brantley made his only hit in four at-bats Saturday against the Orioles count, as he hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning. The home run gave Cleveland a 6-0 lead, which would be the final score, and chased starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez from the game.

Brantley has homered three time in his last 19 games. However, he is batting .351 with a .595 slugging percentage, .992 OPS, one triple, seven doubles, 10 runs and 17 RBI in that span.

Pirates slugger Andrew McCutchen ran the bases and hit in the cage Saturday as part of his recovery from a rib injury.

McCutchen has not played since Aug. 3, but he was not placed on the disabled list until eight days later.

Red Sox outfielder Yoenis Cespedes continued his tear Friday, as he went deep for the third time in five games in a 5-3 loss to the Astros.

 Cespedes had just one hit in the game, as he went 1 for 4 with two strikeouts. He made that hit count, clubbing a two-run home run in the fourth inning to get the Red Sox on the board.

Cespedes has just four hits over his last five games, but three have gone for home runs, and he has driven in eight runs in that span. He is hitting .240/.255/.480 in 12 games with the Red Sox.
