Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Might return without rehab games
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Stanton (hamstring) could skip a rehab assignment and return from the 10-day injured list shortly after the All-Star break, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Stanton did some running Tuesday and has been reincorporating baseball activities into his training regimen of late as he works his way back from a strained left hamstring. He'll need to do some more ramping up before the Yankees are confident that he's ready for game action, but bypassing a rehab assignment would shorten the length of his absence a bit.

Trevor Larnach LF | MIN
Twins' Trevor Larnach: Resting for second leg of twin bill
Larnach is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the White Sox.
The Twins are facing a righty (Drew Thorpe) for the second leg of the twin bill, but the lefty-hitting Larnach will head to the bench while manager Rocco Baldelli makes space in the starting nine for the hot-hitting Matt Wallner. Larnach went 0-for-3 with a walk in the Twins' 3-1 loss in Game 1, and he had started in each of the six games in July before that.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Sitting in second game of twin bill
Jimenez is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Twins.
Jimenez will rest for the second game of the day after he served as Chicago's designated hitter in the team's 3-1 win in the early contest, going 1-for-3 with a base hit. Gavin Sheets will handle DH duties in the nightcap.

Nick Martini DH | COL
Reds' Nick Martini: Undergoes thumb surgery
Reds manager David Bell said Wednesday that Martini will likely be out until September after undergoing surgery to repair ligament damage in his left thumb, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Martini landed on the 10-day injured list over the weekend with the injury and has opted to have it surgically repaired. He's expected to come off the IL before the end of the season, but a precise target date for his return won't become clear until he's able to begin a minor-league rehab assignment.

Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT
Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Resting against southpaw
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
After starting against right-handed pitchers in each of the past three games, O'Hearn will head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Shota Imanaga takes the hill for the Cubs. With O'Hearn receiving the day off, Adley Rutschman will cede catching duties to James McCann and occupy O'Hearn's usual spot in the lineup at designated hitter.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Out against right-hander
Blackmon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.
The lefty-hitting Blackmon sat out Tuesday's 12-6 loss with a lefty (Nick Lodolo) on the mound, but it's a bit more surprising that he's on the bench again Wednesday while right-hander Frankie Montas takes the hill for Cincinnati. The Rockies will give Brenton Doyle a start at designated hitter in Blackmon's stead while Sam Hilliard patrols center field.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Swipes another base
Ohtani went 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base Tuesday in a loss to the Phillies.
The Dodgers were routed in the matchup, so Ohtani got a few innings off after he was pinch-hit for in the seventh inning. Nonetheless, the slugger reached base twice and extended to three a streak of games with at least one steal. Ohtani is putting together an MVP-caliber campaign in his first year with the Dodgers -- he ranks first in the NL in homers (28) and runs (72), and is tied for third in RBI (65) and thefts (21). He also leads the National League and ranks second in MLB with a 1.037 OPS.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: May go on rehab stint after break
Stanton (hamstring) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment later in July, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
It doesn't appear that Stanton will be ready to rejoin the Yankees immediately after the All-Star break, but he could begin playing in rehab games around that time. The slugger has been running on a treadmill and hitting, though he hasn't yet resumed on-field activities, per MLB.com. It's not yet clear how many rehab games Stanton would be asked to play, but there remains a chance he's activated off the IL before the start of August.

Justyn-Henry Malloy 3B | TB
Tigers' Justyn-Henry Malloy: Homers in return to lineup
Malloy went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-8, 10-inning loss to the Guardians.
Malloy had been out of the lineup the last two days, but he returned with a bang Tuesday, popping his fifth home run of the season across 28 games. While the power has been nice, the rookie is batting just .195 with a 35 percent strikeout rate. Malloy is taking his lumps, and he may not see consistent playing time as a result.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Giants' Jorge Soler: Scratched from lineup
Soler was scratched from the Giants' lineup ahead of Tuesday's game versus Toronto due to an illness, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Soler may still be available off the bench Tuesday, but his sickness will ensure he begins the game in the dugout. In his absence, Thairo Estrada will move into the DH spot while Brett Wisely starts at second base, batting ninth.
