  • David Fry RF | CLE

Guardians' David Fry: Lifts homer Monday

Fry went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-3 win over the White Sox.

Fry has slipped into a part-time role in September, going 2-for-10 over four games this month. He made an impact with an increasingly rare start, giving the Guardians a 3-0 lead with a third-inning homer Monday. While it's been a solid year for Fry overall -- he's at a .260/.358/.448 slash line through 372 plate appearances -- he hasn't been able to hang onto an everyday role for a division-leading club.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Reds' Amed Rosario: Regular lineup presence

Rosario started at designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 1-0 win over Atlanta.

Rosario, who started for the eighth time in the last nine games, is getting plenty of opportunities but doesn't hold much fantasy value. Since joining the Reds in the middle of August, Rosario is batting .205 (9-for-44) with a home run, three RBI and six runs scored. Where may be useful is in steals; the utility infielder has swiped three bags in 16 games for Cincinnati and 13 for the season.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Inches closer to 50-50

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Cubs.

Ohtani moved a little closer to the majors' first ever 50-50 season by recording his 47th theft of the campaign. The slugger also has 46 homers, putting him in reach of the historic mark with just under three weeks remaining in the regular season. Ohtani has recorded a home run and/or a stolen base in seven of his past 12 contests and is slashing .280/.339/.640 with five long balls, seven steals, seven RBI and 14 runs during that span.

  • Kyle Schwarber DH | PHI

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Smacks 34th home run

Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rays.

Schwarber got the Phillies' first hit of the game Monday when he took Tyler Alexander deep in the sixth inning. Schwarber stayed hot at the dish as he extended his hitting streak to eight games, which ties a season-long streak. He's now hit six home runs over his last seven games with 12 RBI in that span. Schwarber's 34 home runs are the third most in the National League behind Shohei Ohtani and Marcell Ozuna.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: On bench against lefty

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

The lefty-hitting Manzardo will head to the bench for the third game in a row while southpaw Jared Shuster opens the game for the White Sox. David Fry will step in for Manzardo as the Guardians' designated hitter.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Mets' Pablo Reyes: Removed from 40-man roster

The Mets designated Reyes for assignment Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Reyes was with the Mets for one week and appeared in just one game as a pinch runner. He was replaced on the 40-man roster and 28-man active roster by fellow utility player Eddy Alvarez, whom the Mets acquired from the Red Sox on Sunday.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Heads to bench as Dominguez returns

Stanton is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Royals, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Aaron Judge will occupy the designated-hitter spot Monday while Jasson Dominguez picks up a start in the outfield after being called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Stanton is in the midst of a 1-for-19 slide at the plate and could see his playing time dip upon Dominguez's arrival, though manager Aaron Boone told Laura Albanese of Newsday that Stanton will serve as the Yankees' DH more often that not. With that in mind, Alex Verdugo -- who will start in left field Monday -- could find himself as the odd man out of the lineup more frequently than Stanton.

  • Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Taking seat against lefty

Yoshida is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The left-handed-hitting Yoshida has mostly been an everyday player this season when healthy, but he'll hit the bench for a second straight matchup with a lefty (Cade Povich). Tyler O'Neill will get a start at designated hitter for Boston.

  • Jair Camargo C | ATL

Twins' Jair Camargo: Rejoins major-league club

The Twins recalled Camargo from Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Camargo will give the Twins a second catcher behind Ryan Jeffers for the next few days while Christian Vazquez is on the paternity list. He's a good bet to be sent back down later this week once Vazquez is ready to return.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Matches career high with 46th HR

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Guardians.

Ohtani took Tanner Bibee 450 feet to right field in the fifth that was calculated at 116.7 MPH off the bat. The home run brought him up to 46 for the year, which ties his career high from 2021. He's also now at 101 RBI for the season, which is a new career high. Ohtani is the first player in MLB history to have 46 home runs and 46 stolen bases in the same season and he's knocking on the door of history with a 50-50 campaign. For the year, Ohtani is slashing .291/.374/.618 with 83 extra-base hits, 113 runs and a 72:145 BB:K in 642 plate appearances.
