  • Brewers' Daniel Vogelbach: Sits versus lefty

Vogelbach is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

With a southpaw (Caleb Smith) on the hill for Arizona, the lefty-hitting Vogelbach will take a seat in favor of his short-side platoon mate at first base, the righty-hitting Keston Hiura.

  • Byron Buxton CF | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Rehab assignment coming soon

Manager Rocco Baldelli said Sunday that Buxton (hip) is in line to begin a rehab assignment within the next week, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Buxton recently resumed running at 100 percent without incident, so he appears ready to move on to the final phase of his rehab program for the hip strain that has sidelined him since May 6. Assuming he's able to begin that rehab assignment within the next few days, the outfielder could rejoin the Minnesota lineup as soon as the upcoming weekend.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Royals' Jorge Soler: On bench Sunday

Soler is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Twins.

Soler started in the Royals' previous three games after returning from a groin injury Thursday. He'll get at least the beginning of Sunday's game off, with Salvador Perez set to serve as the designated hitter and Edward Olivares taking over in right field.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Launches three-run homer

McCutchen went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer Saturday against the Nationals.

McCutchen is only hitting .219 with a .761 OPS on the season, but he has been seeing the ball well of late -- he extended his hitting streak to five games while going deep three times in that stretch. The veteran outfielder also has two multi-hit games and seven RBI during that five-game span.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Productive outing in return

Harper went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Nationals.

Harper did a good job stuffing the box score Saturday, recording his 14th RBI of the season and also stealing his fifth base. However, the most important thing is that the star outfielder looked completely recovered from the forearm injury that sidelined him for nearly two weeks. Expect Harper to reclaim his starting role in both the outfield and the middle of the Phillies' lineup moving forward now that he's healthy.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Goes deep again

Dickerson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in a 4-3 victory over the Cubs.

Dickerson put San Francisco on the board in the third inning with a solo shot to left field. It was the second homer in as many games for the outfielder, who had previously gone 14 games without going deep. On the season, Dickerson has six homers and 22 RBI while slashing .227/.298/.406.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Clubs two extra-base hits

Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, double, an additional RBI and two strikeouts in a 12-5 win over the Mariners on Saturday.

One night after taking the mound, Ohtani blasted a solo shot to center in the first and lined an eighth-inning double to account for the Angels' first and last runs of the game. The first-inning home run snapped an 11 at-bat hitless stretch, though Ohtani brings much more to the table than just his contributions at the plate.

  • Miguel Cabrera DH | DET

Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Blasts fifth homer

Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-3 win over the White Sox.

Cabrera extended Detroit's lead to 4-1 when he took Lucas Giolito deep for a solo shot in the sixth inning, his first homer since May 21. Cabrera now has five long balls to go along with 21 RBI and a subpar .196/.266/.307 slash line.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Indians' Harold Ramirez: Clubs third homer

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 10-4 win over the Orioles.

John Means ended up leaving the game in the first inning with a shoulder issue, but before he did Ramirez tagged him for a solo shot. The 26-year-old hadn't gone yard since May 17, but his solid hitting has kept him in the regular lineup even after Bradley Zimmer was added to the roster, and on the season Ramirez is batting .277 with three homers, two steals, 13 runs and 13 RBI through 30 games.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Cubs' Joc Pederson: Leaves with back tightness

Pederson left Saturday's game against the Giants with right lower-back tightness, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

It wasn't originally clear why Pederson left the game in the fifth inning. The extent of the back issue isn't known at this point, but the outfielder figures to be further evaluated before more updates are given.
