Kelly was reinstated from the paternity list Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Kelly will return to Boston's bullpen ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Rays following a three-day absence while with his growing family. The right-hander has appeared in three games since getting called up Aug. 28, surrendering two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four over three innings. Josh Winckowski was optioned to Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move.

The Red Sox optioned Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Reliever Zack Kelly (personal) was reinstated from the paternity list and will assume Winckowski's spot on the active roster after the rookie right-hander was summoned from Triple-A to make a spot start Sunday. Winckowski took a no-decision in Boston's 5-2 win over Texas, covering four innings and striking out three while allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks. The Red Sox currently have a vacancy in their rotation with Kutter Crawford (shoulder) recently joining Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) on the injured list, but a favorable schedule will allow Boston to get by with only four starters until at least Sept. 24.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Chapman (leg) is due to resume throwing off a mound this week, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Chapman was placed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 27 after he developed an infection in his leg, which stemmed from a tattoo he added to his body a few days prior. The left-handed fireballer was cleared to resume throwing over the weekend and appears to have thus far experienced no setbacks, so he'll take another step forward within a couple days by getting back on the mound. Chapman looks like he has a chance at returning from the IL in the minimum amount of time, but he may have to settle for a setup role out of the bullpen with Clay Holmes having recently returned from the IL to possibly take over as the Yankees' primary closing option.

The Blue Jays recalled Pop from Triple-A Buffalo ahead of Monday's doubleheader with the Orioles.

Pop should be available out of the bullpen for either game of the twin bill, but since he's being designated as the Blue Jays' 29th man, he'll be returned to Triple-A immediately after Monday's contests. After being acquired from the Marlins on Aug. 2, Pop gave up two earned runs while striking out just one batter over 6.2 innings in his seven appearances with Toronto before he was optioned to Triple-A on Aug. 23.

Honeywell (elbow) was charged with the loss and a blown save in Triple-A Las Vegas' loss to Reno on Sunday, allowing three earned runs on three hits and a walk over one inning.

Honeywell's erratic showing was a microcosm of a wild 13-12 loss for the Aviators, and it came on the heels of the recovering right-hander having put together back-to-back scoreless one-inning appearances for Las Vegas on Tuesday and Wednesday. Given he still seems to be ironing out some kinks -- he's now allowed three earned runs in three of his last five rehab appearances -- and the Athletics aren't contending for a postseason spot, the organization may opt to give him at least one more outing on the farm to rebuild some confidence.

The Rays recalled Patino from Triple-A Durham in advance of his scheduled start Monday against the Red Sox at Tropicana Field, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Patino will begin his fourth stint of the season in the big leagues, having previously made four starts for Tampa Bay while accruing a 3.95 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 7:6 K:BB across 13.2 innings. Since returning to Triple-A following an Aug. 18 spot start, Patino has covered four and 5.2 innings in his starts for Durham, so the right-hander should be able to offer the Rays a decent amount of length during Monday's outing. With staff ace Shane McClanahan (shoulder) not eligible to return from the IL until mid-September, Patino could get a second turn through the rotation this weekend against the Yankees, though it may be contingent on him pitching well against Boston.

The Orioles recalled Baumann from Triple-A Norfolk in advance of his scheduled start in the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays.

He'll be designated as the Orioles' 29th man for the twin bill, meaning that Baumann is set to return to Norfolk immediately following the spot start. The Orioles will be hoping that Baumann's latest outing at Norfolk will be a harbinger of what's to come as he reports to Baltimore for his 12th career MLB appearance and first career start. He struck out a career-high 13 while allowing one unearned run over six innings in his most recent start for Norfolk on Aug. 31.

Soto (2-8) allowed a run on two hits and two walks to take the loss Sunday against the Royals. He struck out one.

Coming on in the eighth inning of a 2-2 ballgame, Soto labored threw the frame on 21 pitches and ultimately allowed a run to score to take the loss. The lefty has struggled with a 9.00 ERA and 2.27 WHIP across his last 12 appearances. During that time, his K/9 has dropped to 7.4, compared to 9.0 for the season, and he's also walking a batter per inning. Soto will likely continue to struggle unless he can increase his strikeouts and limit the free passes.

The Orioles optioned Garcia to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After covering 1.1 innings in relief in Sunday's 5-0 loss to the Athletics, Garcia wasn't likely to be available for either end of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays. As a result, the Orioles opted to swap Garcia out of the bullpen for a fresh arm in Beau Sulser, who was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Baumann will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to start the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays at Camden Yards, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Baumann will be making his first career MLB start Monday, with his previous 11 appearances with Baltimore over the past two seasons coming as a reliever. Over the past three months at Norfolk, Baumann has compiled a 2.76 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 45.2 innings, and he delivered his best start of the season his last time out Aug. 31. In that start against Lehigh Valley, Baumann tossed six innings and allowed one unearned run while striking out 13.
