  • Wyatt Mills RP | WAS

Royals' Wyatt Mills: Finding success in KC

Mills has a 3.18 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 5.2 innings since he was called up by the Royals.

Mills has kept runs off the board in five of his six appearances, and he's earned two holds. He's been slightly more effective than he was with the Mariners to begin the season. The right-hander owns a 3.77 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB across 14.1 innings between the two teams, though his 2.33 FIP suggests he's seen a little bad luck, which could lead to modest improvements in the second half of the campaign.

  • Joel Payamps RP | ATL

Royals' Joel Payamps: Takes loss Saturday

Payamps (2-3) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits without recording an out, taking the extra-inning loss Saturday versus the Blue Jays.

Payamps allowed a leadoff double to Vladimir Guerrero and three straight singles after that to let a two-run lead slip away. In five appearances in July, Payamps has struggled with a 7.94 ERA and 1.94 WHIP, though he's managed a 5:0 K:BB across 5.2 innings in that span. He has a 3.41 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB in 31.2 innings overall, most often serving in low-leverage situations.

  • Will Vest RP | DET

Tigers' Will Vest: Placed on paternity list

Vest was placed on the paternity list Sunday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Vest will be away from the team as he attends the birth of his child. Considering the All-Star break begins Monday, the right-hander could be ready to go by the time the Tigers play again July 21.

  • Jovani Moran RP | BOS

Twins' Jovani Moran: Shakes off calf issue

Moran (calf) struck out four in a perfect two-inning appearance out of the bullpen in Friday's 6-2 loss to the White Sox.

Moran had been nursing a bruised right calf coming out of his most recent appearance Tuesday against the Brewers, but he avoided a trip to the injured list and was flawless in his return. Unless he's used out of the bullpen in Sunday's series finale with the White Sox, Moran will head into the All-Star break with a 1.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP to go with 27 strikeouts across 18 innings with the big club this season.

  • Tigers' Tyler Alexander: Detroit-Cleveland postponed Sunday

Alexander and the Tigers won't face the Guardians on Sunday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Cleveland.

Alexander had been scheduled to make his fifth start of the season Sunday in what would have been a bullpen day for the Tigers, but the postponement ends up thwarting those plans. The two teams are scheduled to make up the postponed contest Aug. 15 in a traditional doubleheader.

  • Ron Marinaccio RP | CIN

Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Starting rehab assignment Sunday

Marinaccio (shoulder) is set to commence his rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barres on Sunday.

Marinaccio has been out since July 2 while dealing with right shoulder inflammation, but it appears possible that he will return to the team following the All-Star break after he starts his rehab assignment Sunday. The right-hander owns a 2.33 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 19.1 innings in his first 17 career appearances this season.

  • Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA

Rays' Pete Fairbanks: Comes off IL

Fairbanks (lat) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Sunday.

Fairbanks will return to the Rays after missing the entirety of the season to this point after tearing his lat in late March. The reliever will provide a boost to the team's bullpen after Jalen Beeks (leg) was placed on the 15-day IL Sunday. Fairbanks produced a 3.59 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 56 strikeouts over 42.2 innings in 47 appearances last season.

  • Jalen Beeks RP | TEX

Rays' Jalen Beeks: Placed on 15-day IL

Beeks was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with right lower leg tightness.

Beeks last pitched Thursday, earning his first save of the season, but he appears to have tweaked something in his lower right leg. The move to the IL was retroactive to July 15, making him first eligible to return July 30. Pete Fairbanks (lat) was reinstated from the 60-day IL on Sunday and will replace Beeks on the active roster.

  • Felix Bautista RP | BAL

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Dealing with sore hand

Bautista disclosed Sunday that he wasn't available for Saturday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Rays due to a sore right hand, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bautista said he picked up the injury after a mishap with an exercise band. The right-hander isn't certain if he'll be available for Sunday's series finale, but he expects to be ready to go out of the bullpen coming out of the All-Star break.

  • Brett Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Brett Martin: Loses in non-save situation

Martin (0-5) allowed one unearned run on three hits while striking out one over two innings, taking an extra-inning loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

Martin, who has recently filled in as the closer after Joe Barlow (blister) was removed from the role before hitting the injured list, entered a tied contest in the ninth inning. After getting the game into extras, he allowed a pair of hits and the automatic runner to score in the 10th. The left-hander remains an option to close games going forward, though manager Chris Woodward could look elsewhere now that right-handed bullpen stalwart Jonathan Hernandez was activated off the injured list Saturday.
