Pressly struck out one without allowing a baserunner in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against the Mets.

Pressly successfully protected a two-run lead to record his 16th save of the season. He's rebounded well since allowing four earned runs and blowing a save against the Yankees on Thursday, turning in consecutive scoreless appearances. While Pressly still has a hold on the closer role in Houston, he has maintained only an 18:8 K:BB with a 3.86 ERA across 21 innings on the campaign.

Soto picked up the save Wednesday against San Francisco. He struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Eric Haase gave the Tigers the lead with a two-run homer in the sixth, and Soto was able to nail down the win for starting pitcher Rony Garcia. Soto retired the side in order on 10 pitches (eight strikes). Much was made of Soto's command and control issues, but he has handed out a total of four free passes in his last 18 appearances to solidify his hold on the closer job in Detroit.

Voth (0-1) took the loss Wednesday, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk over three innings against the Mariners. He struck out two.

Voth was pressed into starting duty recently and pitched well enough in his prior two outings to remain in the rotation. He's not stretched out enough to provide much length, however, and he still has a 7.34 ERA for the season even with this decent run of late. Voth could transition back to the bullpen when Kyle Bradish (shoulder) is ready to return.

Beeks didn't factor in the decision after allowing one run on three hits over two innings during Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Brewers. He had four strikeouts and zero walks.

The 29-year-old delivered a scoreless first inning but returned for a second frame and gave up a run on two hits and a hit-by-pitch. It was Beeks' fourth time working as an opener this season, and he's given up three runs over 7.2 frames in that role. Overall he has a 2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 41:11 K:BB across 33.1 innings.

Raley will be placed on the restricted list and won't travel with the Rays for the upcoming five-game series against the Blue Jays, which begins Thursday, due to Canada's vaccination requirement, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Raley didn't allow a hit over two scoreless innings during Tuesday's loss to Milwaukee, and he won't be able to travel with the team to Toronto since he's apparently unvaccinated. The 34-year-old has four saves and seven holds with a 2.42 ERA this season, so his absence will be significant for the Tampa Bay bullpen. The Rays have five relievers with at least two saves this season, with Colin Poche and Jason Adam set to be the top options for the five-game set versus the Blue Jays.

Saucedo (hip) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Saucedo has been on the injured list since April 30, and Wednesday's move is simply procedural to make room on the 40-man roster for Sergio Romo, who signed a one-year contract with the Blue Jays on Wednesday. Saucedo has been on a minor-league rehab assignment since mid-June and seems to be closing in on a return.

Herget has been shut down from throwing after continuing to feel discomfort in his injured right shoulder, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Herget was placed on the injured list June 22 with a right shoulder impingement. The original expectation was that his injury wouldn't be long term, but it now appears likely that the right-hander won't be activated when first eligible July 7 given the setback. Herget posted a 3.72 ERA and 0.99 WHIP while collecting one save and two holds across 25 appearances before being sidelined.

Ortega (1-3) was tagged with the loss against the White Sox on Tuesday as a result of giving up two runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one batter.

Ortega's control of the zone was fine, as he threw 15 of 19 pitches for strikes. However, the right-hander was too hittable, giving up a trio of base knocks including a two-run homer off the bat of Luis Robert. Long balls have been a problem for Ortega of late -- he's given up four over his past 6.2 innings after yielding just one homer across his first 24 frames of the campaign.

Oakland team trainer Nick Paparesta said Wednesday that Jimenez (shoulder) could resume throwing as soon as next week, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Though an MRI on Jimenez's strained right shoulder revealed no structural damage, he hasn't been cleared to resume baseball activities since landing on the injured list June 21. The right-hander is expected to take part in plyometric work later this week, and if the shoulder responds well to the activity, he could be cleared to start playing catch off flat ground. Even so, Jimenez looks as though he'll require more than the minimum 15 days to make it back from the IL, giving other relievers on the Oakland roster a chance to close games. Lou Trivino has been manager Mark Kotsay's preferred option thus far, with the 30-year-old having notched saves in back-to-back appearances Saturday and Sunday.

Cuas struck out one in a perfect inning during Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Rangers.

Cuas has seen more high-leverage work in the last couple of weeks, picking up his lone win and all three of his holds in his last six appearances. The right-hander has brought some stability to a volatile Royals bullpen, though he's mostly still a mid-leverage option. Through 12 innings overall, he has a 2.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB.
