Taylor (back) is scheduled to throw one more live batting practice before being sent out on a rehab assignment, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Taylor threw his first live BP session prior to Wednesday's game and came through it with no issues. He may be able to make his season debut within the next couple weeks.

Sandlin allowed a run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in one inning to earn a hold in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Rockies.

Sandlin hadn't allowed a run in his last four outings (3.2 innings), but he gave up an RBI single to Yonathan Daza in the seventh inning. The Guardians were able to keep the lead there, which earned Sandlin his fifth hold in 18 appearances this season. He's added a 3.00 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, 11:17 K:BB and 4-2 record across 18 innings, with the high walk rate being the one drawback to what's otherwise been a solid campaign for the 25-year-old reliever.

Shaw (3-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Rockies. He struck out one in a perfect inning.

Shaw pitched in the eighth inning, but he was deemed the most effective of four Guardians relievers between starter Konnor Pilkington and closer Emmanuel Clase. This was Shaw's second win in as many outings after he picked up just one victory in the first two months of the campaign. He's at a 3.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 18:10 K:BB across 21.1 innings in 27 appearances overall. The 34-year-old extended his scoreless streak to 8.2 innings, as he's been in a groove lately.

Cuas (1-0) walked one and struck out one in a scoreless inning, earning the win Wednesday versus the Giants.

Cuas was in the game when the Royals pulled ahead in the eighth inning, and Scott Barlow was able to record a five-out save. Through nine appearances spanning 8.1 innings, Cuas has logged a 1.08 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with a 7:4 K:BB. His win Wednesday was the first of his major-league career. He continues to be effective in a limited role, though his appearance in this contest indicates he's earned some trust from manager Mike Matheny.

Clase saved Wednesday's 7-5 victory against Colorado, allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning.

Clase surrendered a leadoff single to Connor Joe but induced a foulout and a Brendan Rodgers double play to secure his second save in as many days. The 24-year-old has been on a tear of late with 12 consecutive scoreless appearances to lower his ERA from 3.14 to 1.71 and six saves since June 3.

Pilkington didn't factor into the decision during Wednesday's 7-5 win against the Rockies, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 4.1 innings.

Pilkington pitched better than his line showed as two runs scored on errors and one on a wild pitch, though manager Terry Francona exercised a quick hook as the rookie was limited to 69 pitches and couldn't make it through the fifth inning. Cleveland has now won four of the 24-year-old's five starts, though Pilkington possesses a pedestrian 4.50 ERA during the 22 innings with only 13 strikeouts and an alarming 14 walks. He's slated to pitch next against Minnesota early next week.

Barlow didn't allow a hit or walk while striking out two across 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the save Wednesday against the Giants.

Barlow entered the game with a one-run lead and a runner on first base. However, he worked out of the jam quickly and required 25 pitches to get the final five outs of the game. Barlow now has seven saves on the season, converting each of the last three opportunities for the team. Barlow has held opponents scoreless in seven of his last 10 appearances, and he has maintained an excellent 1.63 ERA across 27.2 frames on the campaign.

Rodriguez (shoulder) began playing catch this week, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Rodriguez has been shut down from throwing for the past six weeks after experiencing a setback in his recovery from capsule repair surgery in his right shoulder, but he's finally restarted his throwing program. The 23-year-old is still a significant time period away from seeing game action, and it's unclear if he'll be back with the Angels by the end of 2022.

Heasley allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four across four innings Wednesday against the Giants.

Heasley wasn't hit particularly hard, but he needed 92 pitches to record 12 outs. All of the damage came against him in his final inning, when he allowed a solo home run, a walk and a single. Heasley has had some success -- he had recorded three straight quality starts prior to Wednesday's outing -- though he has now walked multiple hitters in six of his seven starts on the campaign. Overall, he owns a 3.72 ERA, but that is paired with a 26:20 K:BB.

Winckowski (1-1) allowed four hits and a walk while striking out three over five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Wednesday.

Winckowski made his major-league debut in late May, but struggled across three innings to take the loss. He looked significantly better Wednesday in a favorable matchup, and the Red Sox's offense gave him plenty of support from the start of the game. He's now allowed a combined four runs, 10 hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in eight innings in his two starts. With Garrett Whitlock (hip) and Nathan Eovaldi (back) both on the 15-day injured list into next week at a minimum, Winckowski is likely to get one more start, which lines up to be a home game versus the Tigers early next week.
