Fulmer allowed a hit and struck out one batter in Friday's loss to the Rays. He was not charged with a run but was tagged with a blown save.

Fulmer took over in the ninth inning after Gregory Soto loaded the bases with no outs. All three runs would come in to score and Fulmer was charged with the blown save as the Rays forced extra innings. In 11 appearances since his last blown save Aug. 19, the 28-year-old righty registered a 1.46 ERA with an 11:3 K:BB. Fulmer is sporting a 3.23 ERA with nine saves this season.

Patino allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over six innings Friday against Detroit. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

Patino served up a leadoff shot to Akil Baddoo on the third pitch of the game. He later allowed a pair of runs in the second, and then a fourth and final run in the third. The right-handed rookie was in line for his fourth loss before the Rays forced extra innings. His ERA is up to 4.73 through 70.1 innings and he's allowed 10 runs through 13 frames (6.92 ERA) over his last three appearances. Patino is projected to face the Marlins at home next week.

Soto was charged with three runs on a walk and two hits in Friday's loss to the Rays. He did not record an out.

Soto loaded the bases with a 4-1 lead in the ninth inning and was charged with all three runs after Michael Fulmer replaced him on the mound. Soto's ERA shot up to 3.39 with a 76:40 K:BB through 63.2 innings, but he is still 18-for-19 in save chances this season.

Peguero was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake and was removed from the 40-man roster Friday.

Peguero had his contract selected as a replacement for a player who was placed on the COVID-19 injured list in late August. As a result, he can be removed from the 40-man roster without being subjected to waivers. During his first stint in the majors, Peguero threw only 2.1 innings but surrendered seven earned runs out of the Angels' bullpen.

Marte (undisclosed) was activated from the injured list Friday against the Athletics.

Marte has been out for nearly a month, as he hit the injured list Aug. 22. He was recalled for his major-league debut only two days before being sidelined, and he threw two shutout innings in that outing. Marte should have the chance to pitch out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season.

Brasier was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

Brasier made five appearances after being activated from the IL in early September, allowing five runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks across 4.1 innings. He'll head to Worcester with Matt Barnes (illness) returning from the COVID-19 injured list, but Brasier should be a candidate to return to the big leagues if Boston suffers an injury in its bullpen.

Barnes (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of Friday's game against Baltimore.

Barnes was thought to be in line to return for Wednesday's series finale against the Mariners, but instead the right-hander got another rehab outing in with Double-A Portland. Barnes could have a chance to slot back in as Boston's closer should he pitch well during his first few outings back, but he seems unlikely to reclaim the ninth inning right away, especially considering that he allowed a pair of runs in his final rehab appearance.

King will miss the remainder of the season after recently undergoing thoracic outlet syndrome surgery, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

King was initially sidelined in July with what was described as shoulder inflammation. It's now been revealed that he's dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome, but the surgery should have him ready to go come spring training. King posted a 3.52 ERA and 40:12 K:BB across 46 innings this season, which should leave him as a candidate for high-leverage innings entering 2022 if he makes a full recovery.

Heasley is listed as the starting pitcher for Friday's game against Seattle.

The right-hander's contract was selected from Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Friday and he immediately became the obvious choice to toe the rubber for the series opener against Seattle. With Heasley now penciled in on the lineup card, he's officially slated to make his major-league debut. He posted a 3.33 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 120 K:BB across 105.1 Double-A innings.

Warren (undisclosed) isn't expected to be activated until at least Monday, per MLB.com.

Manager Joe Maddon had previously indicated that Warren could return Sunday against Oakland, but the right-hander is now likely to remain on the injured list until the team's series opener against Houston on Monday, at the earlier. Warren has been out due to COVID-19 protocols since Aug. 25.
