Chapman allowed four runs on one hit and three walks while retiring only one batter Wednesday against the Angels.

Chapman came on in the ninth inning with the Yankees holding a four-run lead, so he wasn't tagged with a blown save. Nonetheless, the outing was a huge letdown form the veteran closer, as he hurled only 10 of 24 pitches for strikes and loaded the bases on three walks. Jared Walsh made Chapman pay for his wildness, crushing a grand slam to tie the game 8-8. After a dominant start to the campaign, Chapman has struggled over his past eight appearances, allowing 12 runs (11 earned) over 5.2 frames. He has given up three long balls and posted a 6:8 K:BB over that stretch.

Iglesias struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save against the Yankees on Wednesday.

Early in the contest, it seemed unlikely that Iglesias would get a chance at a save, as New York jumped out to a 7-2 lead after one inning. However, the Angels used a seven-run ninth frame to get their closer the ball with a three-run cushion, and Iglesias came through with a 1-2-3 inning during which he tossed seven of nine pitches for strikes. The right-hander has converted each of his past five save opportunities and is 15-for-18 in such chances overall this season.

Manager Brandon Hyde said following Wednesday's win over the Astros that Harvey is suffering from right shoulder discomfort, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Harvey last pitched Monday, allowing two runs on a hit and a walk across two-thirds of an inning. The right-hander figures to undergo tests before a full diagnosis is given, so he can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Lovelady exited Wednesday's game against the Red Sox after being struck by a comebacker on the abdomen in the bottom of the seventh inning, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. He fanned one while retiring all five batters he faced.

After Lovelady breezed through four hitters, J.D. Martinez smoked a liner off his abdomen. He was able to throw Martinez out at first base but was forced to exit with trainers. The club figures to provide a further update on the left-hander later Wednesday.

GM Ross Atkins said Wednesday that Pearson is away from the team this week to receive another medical opinion in his injured right groin, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Team president Mark Shapiro made a similar announcement last week, which makes it at least the fifth medical opinion the right-hander has received for the injury. The specifics of the injury have apparently been difficult to pin down after it was initially labeled a Grade 1 strain, and there's some concern Pearson is dealing with an underlying issue that's leading to the recurring problems. The 24-year-old's availability going forward is firmly up in the air, though the team is "determined" to find a path toward him pitching again this season.

Swanson (groin) did not make a scheduled rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma on Monday due to back soreness, the Associated Press reports.

The right-hander was slated to officially begin his rehab assignment Monday after throwing a bullpen session over the weekend, but back soreness apparently stemming from that activity put a damper on that plan. Assuming the issue doesn't develop into anything more debilitating, Swanson will likely be cleared to make his debut with the Rainiers at some point in the coming days.

Montero (5-3) took the loss in a defeat at the hands of the Blue Jays on Tuesday, allowing three earned runs on four hits and recording one strikeout over one inning.

Montero was tasked with preserving a 3-3 tie after the Mariners had knotted the game up in the top of the sixth, but he allowed a three-run home run to Bo Bichette that gave Toronto a lead it wouldn't relinquish. The veteran right-hander, who was brought in this offseason with the intent of having him serve as the full-time closer, continues to spiral, as he's now allowed multiple earned runs in three straight appearances and in five of his last eight outings overall.

Payamps was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday.

Despite not allowing a run during his last 4.2 innings, Payamps was optioned along with Miguel Castro as Steven Matz (illness) and Adam Cimber were added to the major-league roster. It will mark Payamps' first trip back to Triple-A since mid-April, and he should be a candidate to rejoin the Blue Jays should they need to add a bullpen arm later this summer.

Lakins was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with pain in his right elbow.

Lakins exited Tuesday's contest with right elbow discomfort and will be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. It's unclear if he'll spend more than the minimum on the shelf since the specifics of the injury have yet to be disclosed.

Cimber was added to the Blue Jays' 26-man roster prior to Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Toronto acquired Cimber along with Corey Dickerson in a trade with Miami on Tuesday. He'll officially be activated ahead of Wednesday's game and figures to immediately be a candidate for high-leverage innings after posting a 2.88 ERA across 34.1 innings with the Marlins.
