Wells was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Wells picked up his first major-league victory Tuesday after allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and a strikeout over 2.2 frames in relief, and he'll now make his way back to the minors. The left-hander will return to Norfolk, where he has a 5.63 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 27:4 K:BB across 32 innings this season.

Bummer was placed on the injured list Wednesday with a strained right hamstring, retroactive to June 28.

It's not clear how or when Bummer injured his hamstring, but the left-hander last pitched Sunday against the Mariners. Per James Fegan of The Athletic, manager Tony La Russa said that Bummer's time on the injured list is expected to be in the 10-day range. Michael Kopech (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day IL in a corresponding roster move.

Wells (1-0) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with one strikeout in 2.2 innings, earning the win versus Houston on Tuesday.

While he didn't start Tuesday's contest, Wells entered the game to get the last out of the fourth inning. By the time he left in the seventh, the Orioles had pulled ahead, and they piled on nine runs in the last two innings to help Wells earn his first major-league win. The southpaw has allowed two runs on five hits and four walks through his first 4.2 innings this year, so he's likely to remain in a low-leverage role going forward.

Wilson (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Wilson made three rehab appearances at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and he'll be available out of the big-league bullpen Wednesday. The southpaw missed just over a month due to a right hamstring strain, and he posted a 6.08 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 13.1 innings across 15 appearances prior to his injury.

Barnes struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning to secure his 18th save of the year in a 7-6 win over the Royals.

Barnes entered with a one-run lead and set down all three hitters he faced on strikes while needing only 13 pitches to do so. The 31-year-old owns a 2.65 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and an impressive 57:9 K:BB over 34 innings.

Pivetta allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings Tuesday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.

Pivetta had a brutal outing after tossing 6.2 no-hit innings last week against the Rays. He allowed a season-high nine base hits and has surrendered eight homers over his last four starts after giving up just five in his first 12 outings of the year. He was taken deep in the first, fourth and fifth innings and also allowed an RBI single in the second. Pivetta now owns a 4.43 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 99:40 K:BB over 85.1 innings. He's become very unpredictable and lines up for an unfavorable matchup against the Athletics over the weekend.

Brentz (2-1) allowed one run on one hit and a walk while striking out three over an inning to pick up the loss against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Brentz relieved Brad Keller in the sixth and tried to protect a one-run lead with nobody out and a man on first. He struck out and walked a batter before J.D. Martinez knocked a two-run double to right to push the Red Sox back in the lead at 7-6. Brentz was able to strike out the next two batters, but the damage was already done, and the Royals were unable to score another run. The 26-year-old lefty owns a 2.70 ERA and 42:24 K:BB over 36.2 innings in his first season at the major-league level.

Scrubb allowed three walks and struck out two over 2.2 scoreless innings in Tuesday's 13-3 loss to the Orioles.

Scrubb entered after starter Jose Urquidy left with right shoulder discomfort. He'll continue to serve in a multi-inning relief role. The right-hander has a 5.94 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over 16.2 innings out of bullpen.

Tate walked one and struck out two over 2.2 scoreless innings of relief Tuesday to record his first career save in a 13-3 win over the Astros.

Despite the lopsided final score, the right-hander entered the game in the seventh inning with the O's ahead only 4-3, as most of Baltimore's offense came in the final two frames. Tate has a sharp 1.88 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB through 14.1 innings over his last 10 appearances, and the 2015 first-round pick could find himself getting more conventional save chances if he continues to impress.

Hendriks gave up a run while walking one and striking out one in the ninth inning Tuesday to record his 21st save of the season in a 7-6 win over the Twins.

The right-hander wasn't at his sharpest, tossing only 12 of 23 pitches for strikes as he issued his first free pass since May 23, but he had just enough cushion to get the job done. Hendriks remains the AL leader in saves, sitting three ahead of Matt Barnes, and he'll take a 2.38 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and dazzling 52:4 K:BB through 34 innings into his next appearance.
