Yimi Garcia RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Hits snag during rehab
The Blue Jays announced Tuesday that Garcia's (elbow) next rehab outing in the rookie-level Florida Complex League will be delayed for at least a couple of days, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Garcia -- who underwent a cleanup procedure on his elbow in September -- experienced more soreness than expected coming out of his first appearance Thursday, when he retired two of the four batters he faced. The Blue Jays don't believe Garcia is dealing with any sort of serious setback, and the expectation remains that he'll be ready to return to game action later this week. After being shifted to the 60-day injured list earlier this season, Garcia won't be eligible to make his 2026 debut for the Blue Jays until the final week of May.

Matt Brash RP | SEA
Mariners' Matt Brash: Cleared for bullpen session
Brash (lat) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
It will be the first time he's thrown from the bump since he landed on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of May with right lat inflammation. Brash is eligible for activation from the IL on Friday and has a chance to return on that date, though the Mariners might want to have him make a rehab appearance or two first.

Nate Pearson RP | HOU
Astros' Nate Pearson: Will return as reliever
Pearson (elbow) is being built up as a reliever on his rehab assignment, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
When Pearson was signed by the Astros over the offseason, the intention was to stretch him out to be an option for the rotation. However, the club has reversed course and will bring Pearson back as a member of its bullpen. Pearson -- who has pitched predominately as a reliever in the majors -- has posted a 9.53 ERA and 8:10 K:BB over 5.2 frames in his four rehab appearances.

Yaramil Hiraldo RP | BAL
Orioles' Yaramil Hiraldo: Resumes throwing
The Orioles announced Monday that Hiraldo (shoulder) has resumed a throwing program, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Placed on the injured list April 5 due to right shoulder inflammation, Hiraldo met with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on April 20 to receive a second opinion on his injury. Hiraldo apparently received a favorable prognosis, given that the Orioles have signed off on him starting up a throwing program just a few weeks later. Baltimore transferred Hiraldo to the 60-day IL shortly shortly after initially deactivating him, so the right-hander will likely be built up slowly during his throwing program. He'll be eligible to return from the shelf in early June.

Domingo Gonzalez RP | SEA
Mariners' Domingo Gonzalez: Recalled from Triple-A
The Mariners recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
He's grabbing the roster spot vacated by Jose Ferrer, who has gone on paternity leave. Gonzalez has posted a 1.80 ERA and 14:2 K:BB over 15 innings with Tacoma this season. He will be making his major-league debut when/if he enters a game.

Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Helsley: Not throwing, eyes late-May return
The Orioles announced Monday that Helsley (elbow) hasn't been cleared to start a throwing program, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Per Jake Rill of MLB.com, Helsley said that while he's not yet been given the green light to play catch, he's pleased with how his injured elbow has responded to anti-inflammatory medication. He's been able to run and work out in the meantime and expects to start throwing a weighted ball in the coming days before initiating a throwing program. According to Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com, Helsley added that he's not dealing with any ligament damage to his elbow and expects to require a rehab assignment before potentially returning from the 15-day injured list in late May. Since the Orioles closer landed on the shelf May 1, Rico Garcia has collected both of Baltimore's save chances.

Brent Suter RP | LAA
Angels' Brent Suter: Grabs opener assignment
Suter will serve as the Angels' opening pitcher in Monday's contest in Cleveland, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Suter will draw his second opener assignment of the season, after he allowed one run over two frames in his first start back on April 16 against the Yankees. Alek Manoah is slated to be the team's primary pitcher Monday sometime after Suter exits the game.

Sam Bachman RP | LAA
Angels' Sam Bachman: Notches seventh hold
Bachman recorded a hold against Toronto on Sunday, retiring the only batter he faced in the eighth inning.
Bachman was called upon in the eighth frame with two outs after the Blue Jays loaded the bases on a trio of singles. The right-hander faced an imposing task with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at the plate, but Bachman was able to get Toronto's star slugger to ground out. Bachman's usage Sunday was indicative of the high-leverage role he's moved into this season -- he leads the Angels with seven holds, which is almost twice as many as he accumulated over his first two MLB campaigns combined. Bachman has earned manager Kurt Suzuki's trust by putting up a 3.32 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 19 innings spanning 14 appearances.

Yimi Garcia RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Starts up rehab assignment
Garcia (elbow) made his first rehab appearance Thursday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League, recording two outs while giving up one earned run on two hits.
Garcia took the hill for his first game action since July 2, 2025, after he closed last season on Toronto's injured list due to an ankle sprain and then right elbow discomfort caused by scar tissue, which he had cleaned up through surgery in September. The 35-year-old was limited during spring training while rebounding from the procedure, but after facing hitters without issue over the past few weeks, he received clearance to begin a rehab assignment. Garcia could need most of the 30-day rehab window to round into form and knock off rust, so he may not be an option for the Toronto bullpen until late May or early June.
