Heuer (2-0) was perfect over 1.1 innings, striking out one and earning the win Friday versus the Royals.

Heuer was called on to get the last out of the fifth inning, making him eligible for the win in relief of starter Dane Dunning. In the sixth, Heuer got a strikeout and two groundouts. The 24-year-old has pitched to a 2.63 ERA with a 0.80 WHIP and 13 strikeouts across 13.2 innings this season. He's also notched a save and two holds, but typically works earlier in games, so far to decent results.

Colome gave up a run on two hits and two walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings to earn the save Friday versus the Royals.

Colome entered with runners on the corners and two outs in the eighth inning. He walked Ryan O'Hearn to load the bases, but then struck out Whit Merrifield. Colome's struggles persisted in the ninth when he allowed three straight batters to reach with two outs, but he escaped when Ryan McBroom grounded out to end the game. The 31-year-old Colome has a 1.23 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with 12 strikeouts over 14.2 innings this season. The run he allowed Friday was just his third (second earned run) of the year.

Rogers tossed one scoreless inning Friday as he earned the save in Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Tigers. He allowed one hit and no walks while striking out one.

The Tigers struggled offensively throughout Friday's matinee, and Rogers came on to slam the door as he picked up his first save since Aug. 24. The southpaw bounced back from a rough appearance his last time around and now carries a 4.05 ERA over 13.1 innings this year.

Puk (shoulder) will throw again Sunday, John Hickey of SI.com reports.

Puk threw 1.1 innings in a rehab intrasquad game at the team's alternate training site in San Jose on Friday and was expected to rejoin the team afterward. However, the Athletics added another throwing session to his agenda, so he won't be able to rejoin the major-league roster until next week. Once he returns, the southpaw will work out of the bullpen to finish the season.

Heller was optioned to the Yankees' alternate training site following Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

Heller allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out none over one inning in Friday's matinee, and he'll head to alternate camp following the contest. Right-hander Clarke Schmidt's contract was selected by the Yankees to take his place with the major-league pitching staff.

King's contract was purchased by the Rangers on Friday.

The 25-year-old will be making quite the leap, as he's yet to pitch above High-A. He posted a 2.03 ERA in 14 starts for High-A Down East last season, striking out 22.7 percent of batters while walking just 4.0 percent, but expectations should be modest for him this season given the jump in competition.

Alvarado (shoulder) was transferred to the 45-day injured list Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The move ends Alvarado's regular season, as his 45 days will expire just after the end of the campaign, though he could still pitch in the playoffs. The lefty joins teammates Yonny Chirinos (elbow), Chaz Roe (elbow), Jalen Beeks (elbow), Andrew Kittredge (elbow) and Chaz Roe (elbow) on the 45-day injured list, though the Rays did get Nick Anderson back from his forearm injury Friday.

Pruitt won't return this season, as he underwent surgery to repair a hairline fracture in his elbow Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pruitt was expected to compete for a rotation spot this season but never got the chance to do so due to what was originally referred to as elbow inflammation. The issue was evidently more serious than that, and he now won't even pick up a baseball for several months. The timing of the procedure means it's far from a guarantee that he'll be back in time for Opening Day next season.

Devenski (arm) was activated from the injured list Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Devenski returns after missing more than a month with arm soreness. He allowed three runs in just two innings of work prior to landing on the injured list. Joe Biagini was optioned in a corresponding move.

Anderson (forearm) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The 30-year-old threw a successful simulated game Wednesday and is now ready to rejoin the Rays after missing the past two-plus weeks with right forearm inflammation. Anderson has allowed only four hits with a 15:1 K:BB through 9.1 innings this year, and he should reclaim a high-leverage role for manager Kevin Cash, including save chances.
