Lopez (9-15) gave up five runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out three through four innings to take the loss against the Tigers on Sunday.

Lopez was hit early and often, giving up runs in each of his four frames. It's been a tough stretch for Lopez as of late, giving up 16 runs in his last 14 innings. The 25-year-old has a 5.57 ERA with 160 strikeouts through 32 starts this season. Lopez is scheduled to make his next start in the first game of a doubleheader Friday against the Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Yarbrough (11-5) gave up six runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out two through 3.1 innings to take the loss against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Yarbrough endured a disastrous first inning in which he allowed six hits, including a three-run home run, before running into trouble again in the fourth frame. The 27-year-old has a 4.08 ERA with 114 strikeouts through 27 appearances this season. Yarbrough is scheduled to make his next start Saturday against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.

Rodriguez (0-1) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk over two innings Sunday, striking out one batter and taking the loss against Houston.

Rodriguez allowed two homers to George Springer that accounted for all three runs he allowed. Still, Houston scored 13 runs, so he wasn't the only Angels pitcher to get shelled Sunday. The rookie right-hander now owns a 3.24 ERA in 16.2 innings this season.

Adams underwent an MRI on Sunday that revealed damage to the ACL in his left knee, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. He'll require surgery to repair his knee and is expected to need 6-to-8 months to recover.

According to Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle, Adams also relayed that he sustained meniscus damage to the knee and will delay his surgery until the inflammation he's been experiencing calms down. The health setback represents a disappointing conclusion to what had been a strong season for Adams, who emerged as a dominant relief weapon for Seattle in June before a lat injury kept him on the shelf for nearly two months. Adams rejoined the big club as a September callup, only for the knee injury he suffered Saturday to present a major obstacle heading into the offseason. The right-hander should have a key spot in the Seattle bullpen waiting for him once he's healthy again, but the timing of the knee procedure means he'll likely open 2020 on the injured list.

Manager Scott Servais said Sunday that Adams will "probably" be shut down for the season after hyperextending his knee during a collision in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Orioles in 13 innings, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Though the results of the MRI that Adams underwent earlier Sunday haven't been revealed, the Mariners skipper acknowledged that there's little to gain by bringing the reliever back at this point in the season even if he avoids a major setback. The 28-year-old proved to be a pleasant surprise and was at times dominant during his 29 appearances out of the bullpen this season, posting a 3.94 ERA and 53:16 K:BB in 32 innings.

Adams left Saturday's contest after a collision at first base as he was trying to cover a play. While the team hopes the injury is not serious, it was also noted that Adams is likely to be shut down for the remainder of the season.

Thornton will serve as the Blue Jays' bulk reliever behind opener Wilmer Font in Sunday's game against the Yankees, Blue Jays radio play-by-play broadcaster Ben Wagner reports.

Thornton has recently flipped between working as a traditional starter and primary pitcher. His Sunday work will likely begin in the second or third inning, and he can be expected to work four to five frames. Thornton has thrown the ball fairly well of late, allowing just four earned runs across his last three appearances, spanning 14.2 innings.

Rogers (2-4) took the loss Saturday, giving up three runs on three hits in one-third of an inning as the Twins were downed 12-5 by the Royals.

The southpaw entered the game in the ninth inning with the score tied 5-5 and promptly made a mess of things. He gave up a single, a two-run homer and a ground-rule double before getting the hook, with his only out coming via a sacrifice bunt. Rogers has only been scored upon in three of 16 appearances since his last blown save Aug. 1, but when he fails, he tends to do so spectacularly: Despite all the clean outings and a 23:1 K:BB through 16.2 innings over that stretch, he has a 4.32 ERA.

Colome allowed one unearned run Saturday on two hits with zero walks and two strikeouts, completing the ninth inning in his 29th save of the season in a 5-3 victory against the Tigers.

It was far from perfect, but Colome secured the closure, moving him one save away from his most since 2017. His ERA and WHIP, however, are better than they were in 2017, meaning this is one of the best seasons of his career. Colome is 4-4 with a 2.55 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 53 strikeouts in 60 innings this season.

Alexander allowed three runs on 10 hits with zero walks and four strikeouts across 4.1 innings while taking a loss against the White Sox on Saturday.

This was the second time this season Alexander yielded 10 hits in an outing. While he's had excellent control, opponents are combating that by hitting .298 against him. As a result, Alexander has a 4.99 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 43 strikeouts in 48.2 innings this season. Alexander lines up to face the White Sox again on the road in his last start of the year Friday.
