Romano left Saturday's game against the Yankees with a sprained right ankle, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Romano was forced to exit after being struck by a line drive, though he evidently didn't suffer an impact injury but rather twisted his ankle while fielding the ball. It's not clear how much time he's expected to miss.

De Leon was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 27-year-old righty has a 3.51 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 73:27 K:BB in 51.1 innings at Triple-A, working primarily as a starter. He has a 6.35 ERA in 22.2 innings in his big-league career. Look for him to work as a multi-inning reliever.

Rogers permitted one hit and no walks over 1.2 scoreless innings, striking out four to earn the save versus the Indians in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Rogers was called in with one out in the eighth and struck out four of the seven batters he faced to close out the 2-0 victory. This was the 28-year-old's ninth save of five outs or more this season. The left-hander has converted 26 of 32 save chances with a 2.39 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 84:10 K:BB through 64 innings.

Smeltzer took a no-decision Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader against Cleveland, giving the Twins three shutout innings with just one hit and one walk allowed. He struck out one.

The rookie southpaw made his first major-league start since Aug. 9, and kept the Indians off the board for three innings and 49 pitches. He now sports a 3.77 ERA and 33:11 K:BB through 43 innings with the Twins, and is tentatively scheduled to pitch after an opener against the Royals at home Thursday.

Pressly (knee) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

This is his first such session since he had arthroscopic right knee surgery back in August. Houston hopes to get its top setup man back for the final 10 days of the season, which would mean Pressly would be activated sometime next week.

Treinen allowed two earned runs on two hits and two walks over an inning in a win over the Rangers on Friday. He struck out one.

Treinen was brought on with a comfortable 14-7 lead in the ninth and worked himself into a jam by putting the first three batters he faced on base via an infield single and a pair of walks. The right-hander ultimately allowed a two-out single to Elvis Andrus that plated two of those runners before inducing a game-ending pop-up from Willie Calhoun. Treinen's latest hiccup is symptomatic of the inconsistency that's plagued his 2019 campaign, one that's seen him allow multiple earned runs on nine occasions after doing so only twice during his stellar 2018 season.

Puk secured his second hold in a win over the Rangers on Friday, firing two perfect frames during which he recorded a strikeout.

The rookie left-hander notched his six outs on an efficient 24 pitches and served as a bridge to Blake Treinen in the ninth. Puk now has three straight scoreless appearances, and an additionally encouraging aspect of Friday's stellar outing was the fact it represented Puk's first time pitching on consecutive nights in the majors.

Scott was recalled from Triple-A Bowie on Saturday.

He has a 0.56 ERA and 21:3 K:BB in 16 innings (13 appearances) with Bowie but has given up 24 runs in 14.1 innings in big-league stops with the Mariners and Orioles. Look for him to work in low-leverage situations.

Betances (lat) will be activated prior to Sunday's game in Toronto, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.

He completed his final rehab appearance Friday and is flying to Toronto to join the team for the final game of this weekend's series. Betances gave up one run while striking out four and walking two in three innings during his rehab assignment. He should assume a high-leverage role fairly quickly in preparation for the postseason.
