Palumbo is scheduled to be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Palumbo was sidelined by an ankle issue during the back half of July, but he returned to Nashville's rotation in August and delivered six no-hit innings Thursday. The 24-year-old will look to build on that performance Tuesday after posting an 11.00 ERA and 1.78 WHIP in his first three major-league outings.

Yacabonis cleared waivers and was assigned outright to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Yacabonis will remain with the Orioles organization after going unclaimed on waivers and will return to the Triple-A level. In 20.2 innings pitched for Triple-A Norfolk this season, the 27-year-old carries an ERA of 4.35. While the right-hander may not return to the major-league club this season, he could provide a veteran presence in the bullpen going forward given his three seasons with some big-league experience.

Fairbanks was promoted from Triple-A Durham prior to Friday's game against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays dealt prospect Nick Solak to the Rangers for Fairbanks in mid-July. The hard-throwing righty has struck out 19 in 10.1 innings with the Bulls, and while he may not get any saves over the rest of the season, he has the potential to pitch in some high-leverage situations.

Green served as the opener and took the loss against Cleveland on Thursday, pitching one-third of an inning and giving up five runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one.

The Yankees had been 9-0 in games opened by Green this season, but hopes of continuing that streak were dashed when the Indians ambushed the 28-year-old in the first inning. Green loaded the bases with nobody out on a pair of singles and a walk, then struck out Yasiel Puig before serving up the first grand slam of Jose Ramirez's career. When Jason Kipnis went deep immediately after Ramirez, Green was pulled having retired only one batter while giving up a season-high five runs. Despite the blowup, Green could continue to be used as an opener -- perhaps even in the playoffs -- as the approach has been an overall success for the Yankees this year.

Santiago is tentatively scheduled to start Saturday against the Angels, Doug Padilla of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The White Sox need a rotation fill-in after Tuesday's doubleheader, so Santiago will make his second start since joining the team. Santiago hasn't made an appearance since tossing 4.2 innings of long relief Aug. 6 against the Tigers.

Devenski (2-2) was charged with the loss against the A's on Thursday, allowing a solo home run while striking out three.

Devenski came into the eighth inning with the score tied, 6-6, and gave up a homer to Matt Chapman to give the A's the lead for good. The right-hander has functioned mostly in middle relief for the Astros this season, posting a forgettable 4.42 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.

Diekman (1-6) earned the win against the Astros on Thursday after recording the final out of the eighth inning.

With two outs and a 6-6 tie in the eighth inning, Diekman stepped in for Blake Treinen to face Yordan Alvarez. The left-hander threw just two pitches to force Alvarez to ground out. Luckily, Matt Chapman homered in the bottom of the frame to hand the win over to Diekman and the A's. Through 56 appearances this season, the 32-year-old owns a 4.86 ERA and 1.40 WHIP.

Lopez (7-10) was charged with the loss against the Angels on Thursday after surrendering five runs on nine hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

It was quite the messy outing for Lopez, who had been on fire for nearly a month -- he'd allowed three runs or fewer in each start since the All-Star break until Thursday. Of his five runs allowed, one came via the long ball off the bat of Mike Trout. Lopez has now served up 25 homers this year, tying his total from a 2018 campaign that included seven additional starts. The 25-year-old now owns a 5.29 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 129:54 K:BB. He'll look to bounce back when he hits the road for a Wednesday showdown against the Twins.

Robles recorded a two-out save against the White Sox on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and a strikeout in the 8-7 victory.

With one out, Robles came into the ninth inning to replace Trevor Cahill, who had given up a pair of runs to cut the Angels lead to 8-5. The White Sox got to Robles right away with a two-run home run by Welington Castillo, making it a one-run game. The right-hander then put the tying runner on base by allowing a single to Yolmer Sanchez. Luckily, Robles stifled the threat with a fielder's choice out and a strikeout to finish things off for good. The 29-year-old now has 17 saves this season with a 2.98 ERA and 1.16 WHIP.

Hendriks picked up the save Thursday after tossing a perfect inning against the Astros.

With the A's leading 7-6 in the ninth, Hendriks needed just 13 pitches to retire the side and earn his 14th save of the season. It may sound easy enough, but the right-hander came into a home run derby of a game that included 10 long balls. Even though his leadoff batter was Carlos Correa who had already hit two home runs, Hendriks became Houston's final problem of the night as the A's earned their 9,000th franchise victory. Hendriks has been mostly solid in his ninth-inning duties for Oakland, posting a sparkling 1.54 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 88:19 K:BB with 14 saves on the season.
