Blach is expected to join the Orioles for Monday's doubleheader, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

He will either start Game 2 or offer bullpen help as the 26th man. Blach has a 5.98 ERA in the minors this year and would be an unappealing fantasy option regardless of his role in the twin bill.

Palumbo could return to the majors to make a start Aug. 20 during the doubleheader against the Angels, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The 24-year-old southpaw is the Rangers' top pitching prospect and has been excellent in five starts in the Pacific Coast League (3.43 ERA, 32 strikeouts in 21 innings). He has not fared as well in nine big-league innings, but those appearances were not necessarily a logical step in his development, but more of a byproduct of him being on the 40-man roster and the back of the Rangers' big-league rotation being affected by injuries and poor performances.

Giles (elbow) played catch Sunday and felt good enough that the Blue Jays will hold off on placing him on the injured list, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Jays had Billy McKinney up in case they had to make the move with Giles, but the closer was able to stave off such a transaction. It is unclear if he is available for Sunday's game, but in theory he should be available to enter a game in the coming days. Derek Law could be an option to get saves if Giles is unavailable or lands on the shelf.

Borucki (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

He has already been ruled out for the year after having surgery to remove bone spurs from his left elbow.

Adam was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

He was up for a little over a week, and the Blue Jays used him frequently. Adam gave up one run while striking out five over seven innings (five appearances). Neil Ramirez was promoted to take his place in the bullpen.

Mantiply's contract was purchased from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

He was traded from the Reds to the Yankees on Friday in exchange for cash and will quickly move up to join the big-league bullpen. Mantiply reached the majors briefly with the Tigers in 2016. He logged a 3.72 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 26 strikeouts in 29 innings at Triple-A Louisville prior to the trade.

Richards worked up to 49 pitches over 2.1 innings in an appearance for Triple-A Durham on Saturday and could be in the midst of being groomed for a big-league role, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Richards who was acquired at the trade deadline from the Marlins, logged just one inning in his first outing for the Bulls last Tuesday. However, he saw an appreciable bump in workload Saturday while allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk and he also struck out four. The right-hander could potentially fill a variety of roles for the Rays if he's promoted, including long reliever, opener, or even traditional starter.

Law allowed one hit and one walk but struck out two in a four-out save against the Yankees on Saturday.

The 28-year-old took the mound with two outs and nobody on during the eighth, and while he allowed a single to the first batter, he struck out the next hitter and faced the minimum in the ninth. Law is 0-1 with three saves, a 4.95 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP and 51 strikeouts in 43.2 innings this season.

Pagan struck out two in a perfect inning, shutting the door on a 5-4 win over the Mariners on Saturday to earn his 11th save.

Pagan gave up a run against the Mariners in Friday's contest, but he kept things much cleaner to record his second save in as many days. The 28-year-old has a 2.02 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 68 strikeouts over 49 innings this season.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said Giles' arm "isn't bouncing back" as expected and a trip to the injured list is being considered, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Giles received a cortisone shot at the end of July to address right elbow inflammation and he apparently isn't fully past the issue. It doesn't sound as though the 28-year-old has necessarily suffered a setback, but he clearly isn't recovering as planned from what was described as a minor injury. Even if Giles is able to avoid a trip to the shelf, he seems unlikely to be available for the next couple of days.
