Betances was shut down again Tuesday with a low-grade strain in his right lat, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The Yankees originally viewed Betances' latest setback as nothing more than "normal soreness," but an MRI revealed Tuesday that it was worse than initially believed. It's unclear how long he's expected to be shut down for, but it's hard to be especially confident about a return date given his season-long struggles with staying healthy.

Brasier was placed on the bereavement list Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Players must spend between three and seven days on the bereavement list, so Brasier could be back as soon as Friday in Baltimore. His absence makes room on the roster for Darwinzon Hernandez, who starts Tuesday against Texas.

Robles worked around a pair of base hits to toss a scoreless ninth inning and notch his eighth save in Monday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers.

Robles allowed back-to-back singles to Russell Martin and Chris Taylor to lead off the ninth, but buckled down and coaxed a lineout from Enrique Hernandez followed by a double-play ball off the bat of Joc Pederson to end the threat. The right-hander has thus far shown the ability to limit damage via home runs (0.91 HR/9) and walks (6.8 percent rate), which should be enough for him to keep seeing the majority of the Angels' save chances.

Frare has allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk while striking out seven through three June appearances (3.1 innings) with Triple-A Charlotte.

An undisclosed injury cost Frare the final two weeks of May, but he's now back and the K numbers since his return suggest there have been no lingering effects. Frare was not chosen to replace fellow southpaw Jace Fry (shoulder) on the big-league roster, but Frare remains on the White Sox's 40-man roster and could get the call at some point this summer if the team decides it needs another situational lefty in the bullpen.

Beeks is on track to serve as the Rays' bulk reliever in Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Rays haven't officially announced that Beeks will follow opener Ryne Stanek in the contest, but that appears to be a safe assumption with the team playing its ninth game in eight days and thus unable to reshuffle the rotation order. Beeks picked up the win while working behind Stanek in his last turn June 6 in Detroit, blanking the Tigers over 4.1 innings.

Stanek will serve as the Rays' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Athletics.

The right-hander isn't expected to work any longer than two innings before the Rays turn the game over to bulk reliever Jalen Beeks. Stanek will be looking to rebound from an erratic showing Saturday in which he escaped without damage to his ERA but walked three batters in 1.1 innings.

Loaisiga (shoulder) resumed throwing Tuesday, completing 50 tosses off flat ground at 60 feet, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Loaisiga was expected to be shut down for four weeks after landing on the injured list with a right rotator cuff strain May 13, and he did indeed stick to that timeline. He's been placed on the 60-day injured list, so he won't be eligible to return until after the All-Star break.

Martin struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn his second save in Monday's 4-3 win over Boston.

Shawn Kelley failed to hold a ninth-inning lead, setting the stage for Martin to close out the win in the 11th. This might have been a save opportunity for demoted closer Jose Leclerc, but he pitched three times in the last five games (75 pitches) and was likely unavailable. Martin's had good results of late, striking out eight over six scoreless innings. He's become of one of the trusted late-inning options out of the bullpen for manager Chris Woodward.

Barnes gave up two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out one through 0.2 innings of relief work against the Rangers on Monday.

Barnes entered the game in the ninth inning with a one-run lead , but quickly surrendered the lead to record his fourth blown save. The 28-year-old only has one save in the last month and is firmly entrenched in a committee. Barnes has four saves and a 3.76 ERA through 26.1 innings this season.

Betances (shoulder) is "still a little bit sore" and will undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Betances was expected to undergo further testing Monday after suffering a setback over the weekend, but skipper Aaron Boone noted that Betances won't have an MRI until Tuesday. More information will become available after the team receives the test results.
